All season I have towed the line that this is the team that has more talent than any we have fielded here at MSU if they would just play to their potential. After watching them this season I am no longer saying that. I think they are an above average team that is not playing to their potential. Some have tried to group us in as having the talent of UK, Kansas, Mizzou, and shall I dare day UNC and Duke. Let me tell you something. Teams like that don't make a habit of blowing double digit leads on a regular basis only to lose or win at the buzzer. Teams like that don't ever blow 17 point leads to inferior opponents. Teams like that don't lose to teams like Akron at home. I've heard the fatigue excuse bantered about. These are college men in the prime of their life in the best shape of their life (ok...except RSS). If the council on fitness can run infomercials telling kids to get out and move for an hour a day every day then surely premier D1 athletes can play for two hours every 2-3 days. Yes, I know there is practice but still...I forgot the name of the team but I heard the announcers mention last night that one top 10 team only plays 7 players and yet they find a way to win. If this team really does have the talent that everyone says they have then I can only look at the coaching staff. If they are that unable to develop talent then as much as I like Stansbury as a person it is time for him to coach somewhere else. I know he is the winningest coach in league play behind only UK and Florida. The thing is that in college basketball you are only measured by the times you make the NCAA and how far you go. Recent history shows that when our team makes the tourney they only need to pack an overnight bag. Something has to change with this team and it has to change now.</p>
