When is the last time anyone can recall a player missing a semester for academic probation?

I honestly think it would be ridiculous and a quick lawsuit would probably stop that now. I don’t even think grades should factor in now, it’s always been a joke except for walk ons and a few who really wanted a useful degree because they weren’t going pro.

Really good question

One the NCAA probably doesn't want to discuss publicly - most sports centric universities probably don't want to elaborate either

So weird

Too much money at stake.

Millions of dollars in revenue or punish a kid for flunking Science class?

when you see it, it's in football these days

last guy to formally go on academic probation at Kentucky was Cliff Hawkins during the fall semester of 2002. Last prop 48 signee was Marquis Estill I believe.

Eric Manual too maybe?
Eric Manual wasn't. He played his freshman year for us, then sat out his sophomore year while his college admissions exams were under review. The NCAA first questioned him about his test results in July prior to his sophomore year, and didn't come to a final ruling on them until May of the following year.

Good one in remembering Estill. I completely forgot about him being Prop 48.

I remember watching him his whole first season and thinking, “this guy is the next UK star.“
