With a victory over Wake, the Tar Heels secure their place in the ACC championship. When UNC's fate appeared to be sealed, the defense produced a huge turnover to give the Tar Heels one last shot. Wake had one final opportunity to win the game, but they were unable to do so because the Tar Heels' defense forced their biggest game-ending stop, for the first time since 2015, winning the ACC Coastal.
