Iwas able tobook a room atthe Holiday Inn Capital Conference Center. I understand it's about a mile from the Georgia Dome.
I've never been to Atlanta. So for those that know Atlanta, is this asafe area to walk or use MARTA?

they're booked despite seemingly everyone else getting rooms there last night, this morning and this afternoon. Cancellations must be coming in already for fans of other schools.

right by the dome, nice bar and all, close to Midtown, and all the rooms have a good view.

You realize they are non refundable right? Well, they charge you for 1 night. Call me crazy, but I'm hesitant to drop $400.

the Westin Peachtree Plaza is quite a very long walk from the dome ... maybe to far to call it a walk, as is the Hyatt, Sheraton, Ritz, and a lot of other downtown hotels ... leaving the game Marta (transit system) will be a nightmare ... I suggest walking away from the dome then looking for a taxi

or Georgian Terrace. Thinking about saving some $ and trying one of the two. If not, I guess it'll be Marriott Marquis or the Westin. Thx</p>

I booked a room at the Holiday Inn as well but I don't know anything about it. From online reviews it sounds "average." Hoping someone with some knowledge will answer your question.

Mariot Marquis is excellent and not a bad deal at all for $ 175 ... I love the Georgian Terrace...but the Embassy Suites is the best location by far ....; I know because I have built or renovated every hotel mentioned here .... I would guess the Hyatt downtown might be a pretty good deal ... as they are currently being renovated while in opperation ... yes, that's by me as well ..... also, the top of the Westin is called the Sundial... it rotates as you sit there - very cool place to hang out but very expensive ... yeah, renovated that one as well

SEC Team hotel is the Hilton (last I checked it was sold out) I booked mine about a month ago (along with every other bowl city option) The Marriott MArquis is the ACC Team hotel, which is connected to the Hilton via Skybridge. I know it still has rooms, bc I booked 3 this afternoon for some clients. The Hilton will probably have more availability once we know where we are going. I talked to the Sales Director last week and she said several groups were holding rooms waiting on the announcement.

Just booked a room. Absurdly cheap, within walking distance to the Dome, and you can cancel up until the night before. The reviews indicate that its going to be a dump, but that's OK.

I guess I'm used to driving it ... much different when you have to observe one way streets and such ...the path to the dome from there is very well lit with a lot of cops so I wouldn't be to concerned about safety especially with several others around you .... it still feels farther than that but I would trust googles' info .... you should pass by the world of coke, the aquarium, and centenial park ... all pretty cool places to visit (nothing special about the park)

It had always been the Renaissance. It just made the switchover a couple weeks ago to the Melia. They closedup a few days, took down the Renaissance signs, put up the Melia signs and then reopened the doors. There isn't a WHOLE lot around the Melia as far as bars and restaurants - some, and some that are ok to pretty good. You can actually walk from there to the dome, but it's a haul - doable, but a haul. It's right by a Marta stop, though, so you can get on at North Ave, ride the train up to the Five Points station, make the changeover and ride the Westbound train right into the Dome. I have no idea what their rates are since they made the switch.

I booked a room there yesterday. Probably a dump, but hey, I've stayed in places worse.

its the closest hotel to the Dome, located right at the CNN Center which has a good food court (if you're bringing along children)

Booked 3 nights at the Atlanta Marriot Gateway at the airport. New hotel for $109 a night, connected to airport by tram, then to MARTA. Makes since as I am flying
in and not wanting to rent a car. AND when I flew in the last time we were in Peach Bowl the crush to get on MARTA was absurd going back to Midtown and Buckhead but relatively easy going toward the airport. Have stayed before at the Hilton, Renaissance, Westin, Georgian Terrace and they are all nice.
