Dan Mullen was in Vicksburg today at Warren Central.

Do they even have any D1 prospects?

Very good one. Probably ends up a 4 star. Just goes to show you how loaded the state is next year.

how many stars is he?

Lol. I don't know if he is even rated yet but I give him 1,000,000 stars if he commits to us. To OM 1.5 maybe 2 star at best. Of course if he commits to Bama then he will be a least in the top 3 CB of all time, if not the best.

All kidding aside he looks really really good. At least upper 3 star on his initial ranking I would guess.

He is probably a 3 star to start with a rating of 86 or 87 if I had to guess. He has good size and some speed. He is a playmaker on both offense and defense, but I wouldn't say he was a 4 star to start. Could be though depending upon other talent. I'd say he stands out on the field, but is not so dominant that you are just wowed. He could take another step toward that with a little more development. I think the thing that stands out is that he has good height for a corner and good ball skills so he will be rated higher than a lot of smaller corners with similar skill sets. The kid that really stands out on that team to me is Marcus Regan. He is an offensive weapon and you know where he is on the field at all times. He looks to have elite speed as he ran away from a lot of secondaries in 6A football such as Callaway and Madison Central. His numbers aren't as good as Malik Dear's but he looks like a decent 3 star receiver to me. I think there is also an offensive lineman on the WC team that may be D-1 talent but can't remember his name.

Just for grins: If Coach came to WC to replace Devon Bell, the kicker last year was Hunter Bell, lol.

Chris Stamps- CB 6-1, 170
Marcus Ragan- WR 6-0, 175
DeArius Christmas LB/FB 5/10, 200

Christmas will fly under the radar due to his size, but is a high energy kid that plays smart. Was as good as any LB that I watched in 6A football this past year. Had 140 tkls with 10 tfl this year.

Good luck catching Marcus Ragan if he gets in the open field. Alot of his yards came on speed sweeps, but also did a nice job at WR. He struggled in making his cuts early in the season, but improved as the season went on. Overall, a quality prospect that could excel in the return game.

I think Stamps will be the highest rated player at WC based on the "Stars" systems. The kid has good feet and does a good job of turning his hips to get upfield in coverage. Played alot on an island this year, and held his own against some quality WR's. I would hope that he is on the staff's radar.
