there has been a big time loss of confidence in Croom ever consistantly being successful at MSU among the big supporters. The scenario that some of the big supporters are apparently anticipating / hoping for is a David Cutcliffe type situation will happen after the season. This would be the best case scenario but if it doesn`t happen that way it`ll have to be dealt with some other way. He said that the consensus is that Croom is obviously loyal to his assisstants to a fault but more importantly just flat too lazy to ever build a good football program. His exact description was "lazy as hell". He threw in the obligatory "good man" term that everybody feels is necessary when refering to Croom. He says everybody really likes Byrne and there is much confidence in his selecting the next coach. This is just what I`ve heard - take it for what it`s worth.

You can be otherwise moral....but, a good man is not lazy.....I think I understand where he is coming from. The lazy comment is very insightful.

that yes there are major grumblings but no one expects him to be gone after this year. As long as we win three or even two more games he is here if he wants to be. Emphasis on wants to be......

Edit to add: For anyone else that wants the shirt, I put the link on my profile. That way we're not jamming up the board with link requests. Incidentally, I am not marketing them, I bought one last night downtown after the debate and thought it was so damn funny I'd put a pic of it in my sig line.

last Thursday. Paraphrasing: We are finishing up practice on Thursday morning so the asst coaches can head out and do some recruiting. Me? I'm staying home this weekend and relaxin' "

I promise you, it was on this board ....possibly in a veazy blog.

That said it all to me. Look at the man. He has gained 100 pounds in the past year...and still wallows in his same teeth-sucking complacency. I just want to slap his lazy ***.... and ask him just how do you justify taking that kind of money for the suck-***. lazy-***, non-passionate way you go about your so called coaching job.

Why do I mention the weight? To me its a dead giveaway about his lack of self-discipline and passion that he consistently demands of the players (who he consistently blames for every error and loss). And who blames him for undisciplined coaching and lack of passion? Uhhhhhh..... wait a minute!

He just waddled away....on his way to the BBQ and fried chicken.

the same thing about his weight but as pointed out to me in the past the argument doesn't hold water when you consider this....

I personally don't see it based off of what little I've seen of the guy in person and what he says. However, I certainly think it's possible and I'm not doubting it. The problem, again, is making that internal perception a public reality.

I still don't see how in the world your brass could pull of a firing without an epic P.R. disaster.

It's pretty easy. In the press release about his firing just put his overall record up there

the media will hurt our 11th SEC ranked recruiting? We wont be able to recruit a QB? We will only be able to win 3 games a season?

Exactly what is the media going to do to us?

They just can't bring any pressure on us. I mean, they talk about how stupid we are for 2 weeks? Who gives a ****?

As for the laziness, that is new to me, too. I mean, I have heard guys calling him a lazy bastard for the golf cart thing. But, I never figured good guy and lazy could go together.

Back to to media whatever---- who gives a ****. It won't mean jack ****.

or maybe he was a great statesman who helped save the Free World....but, who had absolutely NOTHING to do with an athletic event.

In the day of Winston, a sign of importance and wealth WAS a big belly.....it showed affluence, and one who didn't have to work in the fields or woods all day just to eake a living. Hasn't that dynamic changed? Now its a sign of personal neglect and" lack of self discipline."

Nothing personal, but Mangino is the exception who proves the POINT (i.e. -- Weiss). On the surface .....being obese means nothing......especially here in Mississippi, but it is an arguable point that Croom is a hypocrite -- demanding perfection and accountability when he is not able or willing to provide the same.

That is my leadership concern.

in our coach's 5th year, he will not be the HC after the Egg Bowl. Maybe if that 1 win was UM, but I still doubt it. I fully expect us to win 2-3 more games (beginning on Saturday vs. Vandy) so he will probably stay at least 1 more year.

There will be a media outcry for a while, but every time one of the talking heads criticizes for firing the first black coach in the SEC, the one next to him is going to bring up the record and make him look like an idiot. Yeah, we'll take some hits in the media, but it won't hurt us in hiring a new coach and it will die down. I'm a hell of a lot more concerned about the damage another year of Crxxm will do to us than I am about the media outcry if we do fire him.

How much did the media outcry hurt your basketball program when you fired Barnes and replaced him with a white guy? Yeah, that's what I thought. It won't be much different for us when we fire Crxxm, whether that's this November or next November.

Fire his *** the day before the election and it will be buried on the last page near the legal notices.
