Most are losing bottom of the roster guys looking for PT and transferring to Delta State, Georgia State, etc. We're losing guys that are being counted on as key contributors the following season or were key contributors the previous season. No one bitches much when Bernard Rimmer transfers. But when Romero, Hans, and the Delks transfer....you just don't see that many quality players transferring from one program.

I'm pretty sure that's where we got Dwayne Curtis.

I think they're on their third coach in that time frame. If they've only lost three players that's pretty damn impressive.

If you lose the wrong ones, they're a bad thing. I wish someone could post how many points, rebounds, and assists teams lost to transfers over the last 5 years or so. I suspect the numbers would be staggering.

Of course we had to add Houston to the list and that was pointed out very quickly by the anti-Stans regime , but others pointed out Malcolm White missing from Ole MIssand Tony Douglas missing from the Auburn list. I am sure there are a handful more of you spent the time to really find out the transfers.

that stat is so pathetically meaningless. welcome to the reality of college basketball 2001. You are about 10 years away from having a 17n clue. players want guaranteed starting roles in today's game and to be "the guy" at each program. they also want to get PAID. today. hoop dreams. you think these guys just want to stay at MSU because the love of the game? Please go watch Hoosiers to see some "floor coaching" and "motion offense" and "team". Because thats about all you will see anymore.

College basketball has been trending toward 1 year teams for years now but even now the clueless still blame the head coach.

Tell me who on this list should be the main option on offense and a guaranteed starter? Ben can't play a lick of SEC defense so 17 yourself if you put him on that list. Dee is leaving with visions of sugarplums, when he should be honest that other than his 3 point shooting, his game has serious flaws.

Ben left to get a guaranteed starting spot and Stans wasn't willing to offer him and his dad that guarantee. And after watching the Vandy game the last year Ben was here, can you blame Stans?

Who on this list below does NOT have head issues or daddy daycare issues? Zero. the same amount that you guys saying "we lead in transfers with significant minutes". 17n pathetic.

By my count, that's 6 starters and 1 key contributor/potential starter Rick has lost. Only 4 bottom of the roster guys. Care to show me another program that has lost 7 players of that magnitude? I'd bet you can't find one.

Hansbro can start for a team better than ours, in a league better than ours, but he left because he wasnt guaranteed a starting position? Seriously??? Especially after he started 30 games the year before? Who in the hell was going to take his starting spot? And you do realize we played a 4 guard offense the year he transferred right?

And you can't list Dee with the transfers. He wanted out of the college game entirely. Completely different. What Dee is doing is stupid and selfish.

And you're 17ing high if you say he isn't in the discussion. I think that debate boils down to 3 players Detric White, Z, and Bost. I don't count Bowers, as he was a 2 guard for 3 of his 4 years.

Second, that wasn't my list. Thus the quote box. Why don't you bust the balls of the original poster for that?

Jamont a better scorer...Bost had more assists and less turnovers...shot FT's better..I want to say he even shot the 3 better...ya know, things you want your PG to do

Jamont didnt make the Tourney his 1st 2 years- Bost did...Bost won more games in his 2 years than Ja-money did in his

Stansbury couldnt count it, it just needs to be remembered that we backed into it...Just like I always say now that we have 2 NCAA's the last 5 years, with one we had to win the conference tourney to get into- something Jamont could never do because guys like Gary Ervin kept him from it

Please don't try to say Bost was better. PLEASE. If you have any eye for talent in basketball you KNOW Jamont Gordon was a better player than Dee Bost. They played the same position. End of discussion.

Gordon played on a team in which he and Rhodes were the primary scoring options. Jamont wasnt really a PG- he was the guy that handled the ball mostly so he could shoot it. He also got more rebounds because he alot of games didnt guard the other team's PG, but instead a small forward that played closer to the basket.

Freshman Bost- 156 assists, 102 TO's..33.5% from 3...asst/TO ratio- 1.5-1
Freshman Gordon- 129 assists, 142 TO's..26% from 3...asst/TO ratio- 1- 1.1

Soph Bost- 188 assists, 118 TO's...35.2% from 3...asst/TO ratio 1.6- 1
Soph Gordon- 187 assists, 123 TO's..34.7 from 3...asst/ratio 1.5- 1

Why did Gordon score more than Bost? he shot 98 more times than Bost did in just those 1st 2 seasons- in a few less games

Better scorer? I say more of a ballhog...if Bost gets those 98 shots, his average ends up being around Gordon's too- but as far as playing POINT GUARD- Bost was better

and based on that, I totally think you have to say Bost had a better 2 years. I fail to see how Gordon shooting the ball alot more and having to guard PF's makes him a better PG

but by their sophomore years, they were practicallyidentical. Except for the fact that Gordon was still counted on to score. So it's hard to give the nod to Bost unless you are strictlyconditioning this to PG criteria only. And that's not really fair to Gordon.

I think why most people give Gordon the nod as PG was that he could take his defender off the dribble and score on him. Bost, on the other hand, couldn't most of the time. But I will neverargue that Gordon was a great true PG.

but I guess I just label it differently- I think Bost is a better PG- but the case can definitely be made and I might even agree that Gordon was the better college basketball player. One does not exactly mean the other.

Given a choice between having Bost for one year and having Gordon for one year. I would take Jamont 7 days a week and twice on Sunday. Gordon was a good defender and an almost impossible matchup for opponents. Jamont may not have been a "pure point guard" but he was a beast for us.

Bost played in more games both seasons.Look at the averages. Gordon averaged more points, assists, and rebounds in those years. You can say all you want about shooting 98 more shots, but Gordon still had a better shooting percentage in each of his first two years than Bost ever did. So, no, I don't think Bost would've averaged as many points either way.<div>
</div><div>Again, do you watch these games? That's all you need to see. Gordon is slightly better on paper but with the eye-test alone it isn't close. Bost couldn't create his own shot like Gordon. He could make passes like Gordon. He wasn't as tough as Gordon. He didn't hit game winning shots like Gordon. He wasn't as feared as Gordon. He didn't create the match-up problem that Gordon did. You can say what you want about Jamont not being a true point guard, but he still played the position.<div>
