I 100% agree. As I've always said, the State of Mississippi (and Memphis) is the obvious priority. Since we're located so close to Alabama, and Birmingham is almost as close as Jackson, we really have no choice but to go there. And like the article says, we should be able to get the kids Bama and Auburn don't get, and occasionally beat them like on Wilson and Beniquez Brown from Florence. The 5 hour radius Dan Mullen talks about almost has as much Alabama in it as Mississippi. Roughly double the amount of prospects there too. As many alums as there are in Alabama, no reason to not sell an 'Our State' message to them as well.

After that, the priority should be south to Louisiana, MS Coast, Mobile and Pensacola. Even further really to the Eastern TZ. No reason we can't be a second choice for LA kids. As I've said many times, the Coast is no man's land. May as well get our share. That goes for baseball as well.

Yes. And Norris and Bradford. All they do in Lower Alabama and the Florida Panhandle is play baseball. Travel ball teams everywhere.

Honestly, if we're talking baseball recruiting too, I think we should be in the Orlando area like Ole Miss is. They are getting good players from there.

This is just one of the reasons why it is inexcusable for Auburn baseball to be as bad as it is. This is a good baseball state, Auburn has great facilities, good history, play in the best conference.....yet since Hal Baird left it's been awful save a year or two. Not that this bothers me a whole lot, but it would at least be fun to have a competitive team to go watch if I so chose.

Well that is Auburn territory, especially the Panhandle. Not die-hard by any means, but there's plenty of Auburn in Florida. Not to mention Georgia is full of good players as well.

Still makes me mad that MSU was located in Starkville and not Meridian. Access to the Gold Mine of Talent down south would be even closer. Probably would do alot better in Jackson as well.
