The bus was hit by an 18 wheeler when the driver of the 18 wheeler had a heart attack...I am hearing at least 3 dead and over 60 injuries. This kind of thing makes you wonder really, go home, hug your kids and hold your spouse.

The word in Kosciusko is that the male bus driver was an Ackerman coach. He is from Attala County and I knewhim fairly well. He was an MSU grad and a loyal dog fan. I don't want to give out the name because it might just be a rumor. But if it's him( and I'm resonably sure it is), y'all lost a good fan.

I can confirm it but will not be the first to utter his name. What a wonderful guy with a beautiful 5 year old daughter. He was not just a "bus driver" as the news reports. He was a coach, Social Studies teacher.

The lasting story I will always remember of him is of him taking a player home after a game. The kid had no parents and no one helping him raise his younger sibling. The Coach took him home to a house with no lights on because there was no power. Without another thought, he basically raised him from that point on. The coach and his wife were the kid's family at graduation and every event. The kid is going to Holmes CC and is a success when you think of what he came from. You won't ever see that story on the big screen and no one will ever make a dollar off of it but he was a damn fine person and a TRUE BULLDOG.

I cannot speak to the woman teacher who died. All I know is she is the SPED teacher at the HS.</p>

I was a groomsman in a wedding with the coach this past summer for a mutual close friend. We talked a lot of football and a lot of MSU but the thing that stuck out was how proud he was of the young man at HCC and what he had made of himself in spite of all his adversity. He gave the kid all the credit, that was the kind of guy he was. Terrible loss of a great person.

It sucks even for those of us who don't even know who he is. Sounds like he was a special guy. I know there's definitely some people who need some prayers said for them tonight to help them cope with this.

Thanks for sharing that story for those of us not lucky enough to know him. All my new neighbors in Nashville may think I'm crazy now, but I just went out and rang my cowbell in his honor. That's how I pay my respects to those that are True Maroon. Sounds like we lost a good Bulldog, and an even better man.

Steven "Bebo" Moss from Ethel (it's common knowledge know). I would be surprised if some of y'all didn't play softball with him over the years.
