What score does my daughter need to get to have out of state tutiton wavied .She has a 28 now starting her Jr year in high school and 4.0 avg. in high school now .

She should get it. 27 was the magic number when I applied, but that's also not factoring in a 4.0.

I went to school with people from Memphis with similar #'s and they all had scholarships.

One alum parent will qualify her for half of the out of state waiver automatically. If her mother is alum also it's full waiver.
She should get more than that though. Make sure and get the application filled out early so they can offer her some scholarships.

When I started in '05, a 24 qualified for instate tuition. At some point while I was there, instate tuition was offered to everyone from Memphis. That may have changed now, but you should give the scholarship office a call.

No problem. Those guys are very helpful with that sort of stuff, but most parents don't realize there are so many resources available. At one point there was link off of the MSU Student Portal that allowed you to fill out one application, and apply for all of the departmental scholarships available for that particular major. Not sure if that's still the case, but it's worth exploring. Will save some time.

That would only apply to scholarships offered through MSU though.
