If Lynch goes early, there's a small chance Denver takes Dak at 31.

A small chance, but a chance nonetheless.

No chance. A first round pick is for someone who can contribute immediately or who already has the tools to be a franchise QB. A team would rather see if he falls past the 2nd or try to trade picks in next years draft to redeem him.

I don't think it happens, but if Lynch isn't available, it's not completely out of the question.

not really the case with the limit on rookie contracts now. Similar with teams wanting to take a chance on a franchise qb at number 1 you can get them cheaper than you could a few years ago.

QB not best overall player in this draft, but a QB will go number 1.

Yeah, a QB might be the most valuable player for the team choosing at #1, especially a team that trades up to take that pick. However, a team isn't going to draft a QB in RD 1 simply because they are set on taking a QB in RD 1. They know who they want and the pick that they will take him at.

The Rams did not get the #1 pick cheap. They made the trade to make a splash.

i think russell wilson is the type situation teams are looking at. they dont ask him to do too much and lean on the defense. dak would fit in nicely in a situation like that. need a good ground game and a good defense with a good 3rd down receiver. for a team that is relying on dak to produce early, they will both regret that decision.

+1 totally agree. Gets to sit behind Big Ben and learn for a few years and the Steelers seem to be very patient with players developing
