I’m not all doom and gloom, but Pope is gonna have to snag one of these elite recruits soon or I will start to worry🤷‍♂️

Lol, but please tell me again how UK has the deepest NIL pockets! Outside of Collins, and he’s no guarantee, Pope might go 0’fer in the ‘26 5* ranks!

How!?!
It's his personality. WE love him, he's UK's biggest fan, but like others have said recruits don't give a **** about UK's history or expectations here, they just want their money and brand. Pope is concerned about chemistry. These recruits are like Iverson and his speech about practice.

HAHAHA at the sudden pivot to wanting Freshman after the relentless "I'd rather lose with upperclassman" when Calipari was here.

Bandwagon to the core, are some. Oh and almost all of them fawn over Pitino (who said he'd never recruit a Freshman again).
Pitino just signed a freshman recruit for next season a couple of days ago.

If Adams brother played for pope and loved him, and this Adams really liked Pope, you would think he would be ours if we really wanted him. Davis was almost ready to be run of of Chapel Hill, now players are falling in his lap. When there are 3 or 4 schools on somebody’s final list Kentucky seems to be finishing second or third to much. We will see with Stokes and Collins where we stand when they decide. The landscape has changed and I’m fine with bringing in portal players that are proven but Kentucky has to much to offer to keep losing prospects to rival schools when we have as much or more to offer than any program.

Agreed. I keep saying this. People never learn.

Nothing wrong with good freshmen players. Cal's problem is he seemed to be happy with all freshmen players and you need a balance of both.
I agree but there’s a difference between saying there’s nothing wrong with freshman players/wanting a balance and full on panicking if we didn’t get a freshman. The college game is very different now and there’s a lot of options

i think people put too much of an emphasis on the number of freshman on his teams, for me we lost games more to lack of gameplanning and actual set plays more than the number of freshman

like adous lob from the sideline

or oscar bringing up the ball and turning it over vs lsu

Amazing how people get up in arms over stuff they know nothing about. If the priority is other players you don't think the kid will know it and likely head elsewhere? We don't know what the last month of discussions entailed between the two sides. Maybe pope was 100% in or maybe not. Take your panties out of your crack.

Cal’s problem isn’t he would just grab the highest ranked player he could even though it made no sense roster wise. Also, imagine the players that have passed through here but Pope coaching them

I don’t give a damn about 5 star recruits. Did you not learn your lesson from Crapapari?
Quit worrying about high school dudes.

And these idiots are crying about the number 24 ranked recruit in a very weak class . He didn’t even have a commitable offer from us . lol

Even if you get a “commitment”, it means little. How many times have we received a “commitment“, recently, that never played a second here? I can think of at least 5 in the last 6 years.

That’s par for Pope so far unless the kid lives in KY.

But yall keep laughing at me for thinking he screwed up not keeping Antigua.

People keep saying this class is weak but last year years class was supposed to be not great either other then the top 3. Lo and behold almost all the top 10 ranked players are dominating the game. We need to get a couple of top 10 guys.

So he's a hypocrite on top of being a dirtbag? Not shocking. My point still stands: One day Freshman are not worth anyone's time and the next day they go to pieces when we don't sign them. Phoney.
OR the smart ones know that there has to be a mix of elite freshmen with veterans. We’ve just went from one end of the spectrum with Cal to the other with Pope. Cal couldn’t get good vets to stay with elite freshmen and Pope can’t get elite freshmen with his vets.
