He won't watch it. I don't believe some of these guys anymore. This is about politics for them, not the well being of a group of people. If that wast true there would be a bigger push to change up policy thats clearly not working in parts of inner America. They just keep promoting more of it.

Yep, a whole group of people being manipulated just for their GD vote. Sad, disgusting, and an insult to basic human intelligence and decency. Yet it shamelessly continues.

https://theundefeated.com/features/black-assistant-coaches-get-hurt-the-most-in-recruiting-scandals/

"The most remarkable aspect of the government case that ripped apart college basketball last week is that the closest thing to a victim might be the alleged perpetrators in the middle of this, the ones who were doing what their job required: the African-American assistant coaches.

"Everyone got what they wanted from the transactions detailed by the FBI. The shoe companies, agents and financial advisers got their “in” with potential moneymaking clients of the future. The players and their families got their cash. The basketball programs got their recruits."

There's an epidemic from certain groups who thinks nothing is ever their fault and everything is justified and do not believe in personal responsibilty.

Im just so sick of this crap. I mean we are talking skin color. Just so dumb that this is an issue in our society today. I love sports. It used to be an outlet where everyone could come together. Now everything is so damn political and i hate it. The media is taking all the purity out of what i love and all i can say is that this just makes me sad.

I hardly watch any movies or shows now because of this crap. I don't watch NFL or NBA because of it either. Or ESPN.

Sick of it.

For a bunch of guys who claim they’re not bigots, a lot of you sure say a lot of racists comments.

Geez... I hope recruits don’t read these boards and think this is an accurate snapshot of our fan base.

Or maybe you guys should post a disclaimer before and after each post that: These views in no way represent the University of Kentucky or their basketball team.

Non-stop criticism of white people and blaming everything on whites and writing for a website that is strictly just for black athletes= "Not racist"

Being critical of the above mentaity and those intellectually lazy enough to use it= "racist."

If you haven't noticed yet, people are sick of this garbage.

Explain why? That a writer is being called out on his BS? Get over yourself. Pathetic.

I'll tell you my perspective, despite it being a complete waste of time.

Kentucky is a state that lags behind in just about every trackable category nationally, including education and povert. It's also a state with a history of racism, that unfortunately even extends to our basketball program. The same basketball program that should've been more forthright in allowing black players.

In addition, it's wrought with religious zealots, rural Republicans and is extremely conservative on social issues.

So, no, it is not surprising.. at all.

So you just lied, over simplified complex issues, and have no real grasp of historical times before yourself?

Kentucky is a poor state because of recourses, it's not a reflection on the people. I am ashamed to be educated half the time because of dips like you.

And since you obviously hold to the ideal that the uneducated and poor population is a backward people, how do you feel about the overwhelming majority of uneducated minority votes your band of misfits lives and breathes politically from? Ya know, that come from poor and uneducated regions?

"They are too stupid to know better. They are victims" - a true bigots pov.

"Who's gonna pick your strawberries" - a true bigots position on immigration.

MX had your type pegged years ago.

You still didn't post 1 racist thing written on this thread. Hell you think there aren't Caucasians in poverty in Eastern Ky? Our basketball program is racist? Why? We have too many white guys? We have never hired an African American coach? maybe because Louisville said it, oh, and that movie, I wish Duke had beat Uk and had been the one to play Texas Western..Geeze it is a stretch to find anything racist in this thread

Adolph Rupp was one of the first coaches in America to recruit black players. None would sign with UK because of the SEC. Black players didn't want to go on the road to KKK hotspots throughout the south like Mississippi.

Please compare poverty and murder rates in highly minority/democrat areas vs white/republican areas.

Rather than ignoring history and trying to rewrite it, it's better to acknowledge it. It can be justified away 100 different ways. Other programs were segregationist, Rupp recruited black players, the list goes on. But the reality is that Kentucky was behind and it's largely excuses. It's definitely a scar on the program. So, no, it's not a good look for UK that some staunch politicos are on our basketball board berating a black journalist for pointing out that black assistant coaches are involved. Although, I don't suspect anything will change it. For whatever reason, these people are convinced that black people are all on welfare, have a victim mentality and there is a great liberal conspiracy against white rural southerners.

I just hope that recruits or their families trying to learn about the program don't base their opinion of UK off some fans who post in political threads more than talk basketball. And that's my last post on it. Thanks.

1. Most of the country was behind, why pinpoint Kentucky?

Why is it a "scar on the program?" Is it a scar on every other program, or only Kentucky?

Did those scars begin to heal when (50 years ago) Kentucky began playing black scholarship athletes in major sports? Or is it more of a permanent scar that people like you need to bring up constantly?

2. What on earth are you blathering on about with the, "...these people are convinced that black people are all on welfare...?"

You ever considered having a reasonable (and honest) discussion about anything? Ever?

I know the answer to that.

As I said, you have a warped view of historical record.

This is the mind of a propagandized ideologue, in its purest form.

The Director of Sports Journalism at Northwestern ..... re-read that if you need to wrote a piece perpetuating low expectations.

I wouldn't care if it was written by effing JD Salinger, anybody who tries to say that people shouldn't be held to high standards due to race is the worst kind of racist. Jesus man how do you sleep at night.

@bkingUK wants to represent the state of KY as backwards, yet it seems he is the one who is...

WKU started the integration of college bball in the south...UK was first school in SEC football with a black scholarship player...UK basketball had a black head basketball coach for 10 yrs...scar on program...LOL - of the blueblood programs, KU has room to talk, but UNC (1966), UK (1970), DUKE (1970) are on par with their scholarship integration of black bball players. (First ACC black bball player was 1965-66, SEC 1967, rumor is Joe B Hall was recruiting black athletes when he was hired on UK staff in 1965)

Many of these black athletes and journalists/sports alalysts are delusional when it comes to racism. It gets so old. Shannon sharpe, jamele hill, Lebron James, Marcellus Wiley, Kenyon Martin, etc, are casuing more damage than they could ever realize with what they say.

Kenyon Martin's comments on Jeremy Lin.. Holy moly. Can you imagine if a white guy said that? Would probably cause a riot.
