I was asking him earlier and he got all defensive, we might need to have someone from the compliance office contact him...

is that if it was I'm sure someone from our athletic dept. would have tracked him down and had a little talk with him. That said, I can't imagine they're too happy about random fans contacting recruits (and that includes people like Gene).

I don't see how he's any different than a local newspaper talking to a player. If he starts interviewinguncommittedrecruits and tries tosubtletysway them our way, I'd be worried. Until then, I doubt there's anything to worry about.

I'm afraid that he is a booster. If that's the fact, he isn't allowed contact with recruits no matter how impartial he is.

amazed that you haven't put an end to his peddling of his articles on here. It's one thing if he contributes to the board through discussion.... his only posts are to drive traffic away from here.

Sincere suggestion: Contact Bracky [email protected]. Just make sure you aren't doing anything wrong. Then post it here. Or if you've already done this, just tell us. Then people will probably back off.

No offense but I really don't about what any of you got to say. Contact him yourself if it's that serious.

Also a quick check of Jeremiah Short's Facebook (he has it unlocked) reveals he studied at MSU and received a bachelor of science in sports communication. He also worked with Jean on Scout.com with the title "I cover MSU women's Basketball" and was a "switchboard operator/co-host" for "Bully Barkline" and currently works for Real Sports Publishing

and have the possibility of putting this university at risk, it's your responsibility to do so. Honestly, I don't think what you're doing (this time) is wrong, but you should at least have the common sense to at least back track to make sure.

Please use complete sentences. Wouldn't it make sense to do one simple thing to do away with this distraction? Then people could actually focus on your Pulitzer caliber material.

because you don't know if he's a booster. And because of his lack of sense while trying to interact with people, I also don't have a lot of faith that he would realize if he were a booster or not.

I'm going to respond as such, even though I'm taking it as this being a mass message... so:<div>1. I never post on his articles in the first place</div><div>2. I even stated that I don't think this is in violation, but I'm not ruling out the possibility of it being one</div><div>3. He's coming off as a complete douche when people do come to him with legitimate concerns.</div>

that you are technically trying to "sell" us on, yet you do NOT care what we say? Not much of a newspaper salesman are you?

IF you wanted your writing and paper to be taken seriously and considered legitimate, the LEAST you could do is touch base with our compliance office, and post said correspondence. You further illegitimize yourself by refusing to do this. What your not fully realizing is that NO ONE associated with your paper can be a booster for Mississippi State athletics or there are some pretty serious secondary violations going on. It's not only inclusive to you...it covers your editor, web-designer, etc...

a booster can be defined as anyone who supports the program financially and/or buys season tickets. Does the athletic department receive any money from you in any way?

I wonder if Jean ever purchased season tickets before he started his website? Did Rosebowl ever purchase season tickets before he started working for Jean?

We had our program ruined for SIX years going on a decade over a set of tires, a summer class, a couple free nights in a hotel, and some motivated/pissed off Rebels. SIX YEARS. IF you don't think the Rebels are looking for ANYTHING they can find to f' us with, you haven't been a State fan for very long or your severely underestimating them. IF this guy or his editor are or ever have been boosters, you can BET the Rebels will discover the connection, and will make sure the info gets into the wrong hands. We get lazy in this type of area, they will bring the house down on us. They've done it before(the most recent time we were getting ahead of them.) We owe it to each other to self-police this kind of stuff, ESPECIALLY when it's publically out there on EVERY MState message board.

Say we're being ridiculous, maybe we are. I hope your right. I hope it's nothing, and we're overreacting like a bunch of message board fools. We all LIKE where we're at now and are possibly going in the future, but those of us who were fans in 2001 realize just how fragile it can all be, and just how easily it can ALL come crashing down.

If you're trying to pay rent peddling this ****, you better find you a cozy cardboard box. If you are a writer of any kind, I don't see how you can be fine with some of the stuff you type for sentences.

Prime example: "what money I got to boost anything." c'mon man
