Thanks for the clarification. I always get the River Ridge and Blue Ridge districts mixed up. I just know that Salem doesn't schedule any C5/C6 teams outside of their surrounding area.
I should have remembered that DInwiddie played North Staffford this year considering I work there. LOL But I don't recall Dinwiddie playing HSHS or Massaponax in recent years. What years was that? Also, Varina, GW, and Salem are Class 4. The original post was in reference to Class 5 and Class 6 schools.

My professional opinion that Class 3 is weak is because there is a lack of depth among the quality of teams. Meaning, there is only 2-3 teams that have a real chance to win the championship each year; More likely than not the Class 3 champion will be LCA, Heritage, Lafayette (prior to next year), Phoebus (before they moved to Class 4) and Hopewell a few years ago.
Also, this year's LCA team was the least athletic and talented team they have had since 2018 yet they dominated their playoff opponents. LCA's best teams since joining VHSL were between 2019-2022 yet they only advanced to 1 championship championship game (lost to Phoebus) during that time span because Class 3 was more competitive then. That's my opinion from having coached high school football for 18 years and coached against LCA from 2015-2022.

Yea I know Coach Mills and the Generals don't duck any smoke. The original post was referring to LCA scheduling bigger schools like Dinwiddie does. I wasn't considering those years for Dinwiddie since LCA wasn't in the VHSL when Springs played Dinwiddie and LCA was slightly better than average when Ponax played DInwiddie. LCA just became a state contender in 2021. I don't recall Dinwiddie playing any Class 5 or Class 6 schools OOD other than Maury and North Stafford since 2021.
@Kenneth Harris I believe you are referring to the Confederate flag on the side of I-64 West. That is in Charlottesville, not Lynchburg. Also, that flag is on private property so it's not anything that can be done about it.
I think he is confusing Lynchburg with Charlottesville. There is a gigantic Confederate flag visible from I-64 West in Charlottesville.

They also had a pretty significant injury that may have had something to do with them not getting to the state title game in 2021. I'm sure you remember that. But I agree with your overall point.

I don't know the addresses that individual students use but I know it's common practice for some students to use false addresses at most schools across America, even Amherst has benefited from that LOL. As I mentioned in my last post, it is not against VHSL rules for students to attend a school out of their zone. They just have to pay tuition and sit 1 year after the transfer.
They made it to the title game in 2021 but lost to Phoebus. I believe you are referring to Gideon's injury in 2022 that kept him from playing in the playoffs that year.

I believe he replied to another poster saying it was in Lynchburg. If he didn't then I would argue that Farmville nor Charlottesville is "close" to Lynchburg. LOL

All schools recruit. The difference is public schools are like come play with us we will be good together. And then kids have to move. LCA has the funds of Liberty university to offer a lot more incentive including monetary incentives. Every plubic school has at least 95% of their attendees living in their school zone. LCA doesn’t even have 10% living in their school zone which is heritages. And that’s athletes or basic student population. So that in itself. But also because of liberty’s money they can. Being kids in from out of state. With easy research on Facebook and huddle you can see where every kid is from and when they came. Over 50% of their football and basketball roster lives in forest. Including their top players. Even the ones who moved in from out of state live in forest. Ware from Georgia. Frederic’s knights. Then came to forest middle then LCA. Weston Woodard form DC for 2 years. Manning from Forest after 8th. Payne from Brookville after 8th. Austin tremblay from Kentucky last year. Came to LCA a week before this season began. Joe bortels from img academy in Florida came up to play for LCA. Show me a public school in Va that has that many out of state players. This is why Liberty bought LCA in 2014. To bring in college level athletes and try to funnel them to LU even though it doesn’t always work out for them. You think LCA had the money to sue vhsl. Or pay for 14 million dollar stadium? They 100% recruit. And you will see next year when they have more lineman and 2 RBs come in from out of state. You are biased because you got a young kid that goes there and will play for them and you want them to be able to stay in vhsl. It’s up to all the schools and parents to stand up to them and refuse to play them and forfeit. Then they will have no games and no recognition.
Schoolzone doesn’t matter to them. Only 10% of their student body lives in their Schoolzone.

If Phoebus, Salem and LCA were a collective 0-30 or 1-28 someone would be complaining about the What Not High School Whoevers that dominant their class. Phantoms, Spartans and Bulldogs would not get a mention.
