From what I have been told and somewhat good connection is all this had to do more with her agency than her herself. Everyone needs to fully understand that these agents only make $ if their clients are playing because when they originally sign them its at a lot smaller portion knowing they are going to make their $ in the next couple of years. As some have stated if you really look at who the ones are out there that really promote the rankings and the stars its the agents that are representing these athletes because they know the higher the star the more money that comes with even thou that player is not remotely close to the star rating. I know a young HS athlete that recently changed schools for their senior year because the agent that worked his way in to sign this athlete wanted them at a different school and trained by different people, that was part of the contract and if you wanted the $ you did as you were told. Look, being from Iowa we get enamoured with the stars in all sports and when you pick up a 4 or 5 star kid you think instant success and that kid is already better than the 3 star kid we have on our team, I get it. Lets be honest go way back to Jans preseason press conference when she said repeatably were going to have to be patient with these fresh and I think she knew then that Deal althou a high star athlete was not going to show it as quick as people thought. I honestly think Deal was just slow athletically and that in itself effected the rest of her game and how she played. I hope she lands somewhere and has a big career but I don't think it will be at a high major unless she works on her quickness and ball handling or she will be in the same situation as she is today. Agents control todays game not the players or coaches and when people ask who is looking out for your athlete I hope you say the coaches because the agents are looking out for their pocketbook, the coaches will still be there for you 20 years from now.
