It happens with MSU commits too, like Fossellman and Warren, but watch for Mikhail Miller to be a 3star once he commits to Mississippi. He's not ranked currently, but he'll be a 3 star in a few days.<div>

I look at recruiting this way.

I just evaluated our outgoing senior class and determined that Dexter McCluster was 5 star and Jevan Snead was a stupid Texas limpdick.

That is the only time recruiting talk matters.

y'all do understand that if you have a BCS offer but haven't been evaluated they get two stars, right? Then they get evaluated and get whatever they get. This has been posted many times by mods at the OM, SC and Arkansas Scout sites to name a few.

1) Good recruits tend to be attracted to good recruiting classes. IF a recruiting service (for whatever reason) distorts the quality of a school`s recruiting class one way or the other it can/will affect the decision making of recruits who didn`t committ early.

2) Good recruiting classes help fund raising and ticket sales.

I`m sure there are other ways puffing or tearing down a school`s recruiting class has an effect on said school but the two I listed are pretty elementary.

at being drafted by MLB. He is a pitcher and a catcher for IAHS. I don't know what he wants to do as far as playing sports, but it wouldn't shock me if he ends up in pro baseball.

recruiting services are whores who will tell you whatever you want to hear, if you pay them right.

And I really don't know anyone that has bought a ticket based on a recruiting class.

but good recruiting classes are very integral part of what creates excitement around a program. Good recruiting classes say a program has a good future and if you don`t go ahead and buy your tickets while you can , you`re gonna get worse tickets later on or GULP have to spend a lot more money to get your tickets because the team is going to be a lot better in the near future

It is interesting to to see a guy from a school that wins the national title every August take such a rational look at recruiting and enlighten the fans of another school about keeping real. Good job..

Sorry, but you did say it.

Of course recruiting itself is important dude, but the guys who cover it know about as much about what makes a good football player as I do about the MIR space station.
