Really. You mean we have players getting fouls on them. Wow.Well you have to play zone sometimes to win a Freaking game
Cal can be stubborn or open his eyes to the fact they rack up fouls in man to man

Dumb take.
We need his body for practice. Whitney role in the games was non-existent
Not hating on Whitney. Things didn't work out, that's life and that's okay.
But if ya'll remember, Kentucky took off last year after Quade transferred mid season. Both Green and Whitney had a lot of question marks surrounding their roles on the team. The departures mean those questions don't need to be answered.
I think the Cats are at a point now where everyone is getting comfortable with their roles, Whitney was the only question mark. Well, other than Allen but he's hurt.
Thoughts?

For the life of me I don’t understand why some of you guys are so obsessed with us having several more scholarship players who can’t help us sitting on the end of the bench.Practice will be 5 scholly players against 3 schollies + 2 walkons. Or 4 on 4.
Not a great situation. Of course this far into the season I'm not sure how needed is 5 on 5 with 2 games a week.
Need 12 scholly players always.
Agree. An eight man rotation is plenty.Whitney's minutes will be distributed and those guys will get into a better flow. Sestina and Brooks will have to play more by nature.. and they will get better for it.
We're fine with an 8 man rotation. It's not like Whitney came in for a foul-ladened player and helped all that much.
Maybe Cal will be a bit looser with fouls.
I’m not really a tweeter sleuth, but it looks like he posted that yesterday.
Hmmmm interesting. Wonder if that had anything to do with our early season losses? You especially have to wonder if that had any effect on that damn duke beat down we took. I know they played out of their minds. We still shouldn’t have lost that badly.This.
Green was a locker room cancer bc he was being overtaken by the incoming freshmen. He and PJ had a Soph vs Fresh mentality early in the season and if you watched closely you could see them looking for each other and blatantly not passing to the open guy. Once Green left, the team meshed and that’s when PJ bought in and took off.

His body is replaceable. People fail to realize there's literally 13 players on the team.
Face it the kid needed to work on his basketball IQ and overall skills, the AAU coach talking about minutes, maybe he should have done a better job of preparing the kid for the next level. I still say I about 70% of the big time AAU coaches are not worth the hot air that comes out of the mouth when it comes to being an actual coach. Not hating on Whitney. Things didn't work out, that's life and that's okay.

No it won't. We have other's to "buy" minutes. He hasn't bought a damn minute all year and you guys start this crap. He was a dragon in high school against mediocre and less high school teams and became Puff the Magic Dragon at the college level. He didn't do one single thing well. Only high ranked player I've ever seen with a physique like his that could neither dribble, shoot, rebound or play defense. You know his frustration carried over to others, it's human nature. I'm glad he left.Probably but being able to buy some minutes when we're in foul trouble is important. So is his athleticism in practice. It won't hurt us much in the box score but it will hurt in other ways.
Yes it is. It's this simple. We don't need him for practice either. Cal could go to any college class, blindfolded and throw a dart and hit a person who could do what Whitney has done this year and that's not debatable.No. Each of those 13 is not created equal. We needed him in practice. It's not debatable

I think you're still missing the point others have mentioned to you. You compared his loss to Green's and others have given examples of how that just isn't the case, but you fail to see that so far. And, he isn't just a body. He is extremely athletic and was important in practice And, there was still hope he would develop his game more to at least be beneficial in certain points of the game. Being gone leaves us very short on guards as we start 3 and we've seen Ashton in foul trouble recently Whitney could at least buy us some time.
I think some of it had to do with the Stokes deal in 2011-2012. Stokes wanted to come to UK but Cal didn’t have a scholarship to give. I’ve read that’s some of the reason why he leaves open spots. I’ve also heard him talk about the subject. He thinks 10-11 is all he needs. I can’t remember the reasoning now.Any time you lose a player it has a negative affect. Stamina and negative influence on future recruiting.
I don't know why Cal is so against adding recruits to our team but guess we'll find out in how he handles this.

You were at the game, right? Did we need Whitney's fouls? If Whitney is still here he may have gotten a minute or two and we lose. Glad you're there representing but You're wrong and I'm so sorry. You're wrong. I'm so sorry. We haven't seen but a portion. Early reports were KW was doing great in practice. He's a 5 star kid who was really struggling in the court his first half a season. If you follow UK basketball shouldn't be something new. Has no bearing of what he can replicate in practice for this kid. It's pretty obvious. They are not created equal
