Have heard 3 numbers for Mitchell, 472, 478 and 482. So I would guess the highest to be safe.

I believe all those numbers to be low, Probably in order biggest to smallest Mt. Airy , Mittchell and Murphy.

mbdfan, any ideas on Murphy's #'s?
Dogtuff would know better than me, but according to our local paper enrollment at the high school was up around 40 students from last year.

If that information was accurate I'd guess Murphy's reported ADM will end up somewhere between 505 and 515, that's just a guess though.

ADM's from what I remember always come out the last week of the year. It's been that way since 2013 at least.

Now given that decision the state made to move the playoffs back a week it'll make for some odd bedfellow's for that long week with nothing going on.

Gentry made the comment in the local paper that Murphy may end up playing Andrews again in the playoffs. That comment leads me to believe Murphy may be 1a again. If anyone has an idea on adm #s, I would believe Gentry certainly does. Just my opinion tho

I personally hope that Rosman just "opts-out" of the playoffs altogether because NO team should qualify for the playoffs if they can't beat any team in the state in which the playoffs are held....

Not to be confusing, but I always want Rosman to win whether they are playing a team from out-of-state or not, but the Tigers have NOT earned the right IMO to compete in the North Carolina state 1A playoffs because they've beaten NOBODY from the state of N.C. , this year...

Hopefully, this year is NOT the beginning of another downward spiral in the football program?

That's my two cents worth!

Good luck to all the SMC teams who will qualify for the playoffs!

At least our coach doesn't go for a fake field goal up 40-00 in the forth. Wow!

Nice #, but you do know that the overall series record between Robbinsville and Murphy is something like 41-20 in favor of Murphy though, right? Just throwing that out there.

How valid is THAT 460 NUMBER ?? Mt. Airy is over 520. So is both Mitchell AND Murphy going small?

That comes from the superintendent on a recent interview when she was attending the commissioners debate last Thursday. She said Murphy high is at around 450 to 460 for the year so I believe the superintendent would have a better view then anyone else. It was on the local Cherokee scouts facebook page if you'd like to view the video so unless the school system doesn't know the numbers of their own schools, that's as good as source as you can have.

That would be a complete contradiction of what was said in the Scout at the beginning of the school year, when the superintendent stated that enrollment at the high school was up around 40 students.

Also common sense comes in to play, it's pretty apparent that enrollment in the district is once again on the rise, not in decline. There must have been a miscommunication in this most recent interview.

What difference does it make if they go to tennessee to beat Cupcake team or beat some other cupcake teams in nc. They r closer to tennessee than most aweful nc teams
