I am curious to see this year and this team will turn out, so I can tracking the different lineups each game; ab, h, lob, so, bb

p/game
.avg: .308
ab: 34.42
h: 10.58
lob: 9.58
so: 6.5
BB: 3.42

Cohen has used 12 different lineups, so far.

  • Looks to working into a Bradford 1, Frazier2, Norris3 ...could be the Porter injury already pushing him into it or could have been the Memphis lost
Brownlee played a small amount this weekend, still recovering from injury
Sam Frost in this lineup and playing on this team is the most frustrating thing so far
We have had 41 SO in the last 5 games, with only 13 BB

But we're going to have to work on chasing balls out of the zone and work our way on base.I'm sure it's mainly the young guys and they'll adjust to sliders and such at this level eventually. I think we've got some potential to hit though.I like the nucleus of Rea, Porter, Norris,Renfroe, Bradford. That's enough to get some things done butit's a small margin for error type thing when making a lineup out of what we've got and putting a Frost in there really sets us back.

if we get some smarter base running and eliminate the excessive errors, I'd say we have a good shot at a regional. Beyond that, it's a crapshoot on how well the pitching staff lasts throughout the season. If we have a good staff at the end of the year, this is the type of team that can manufacture wins in a tournament. Not based on talent, but just on the ability to get on base and put the ball in play.

Reminds me a little of the team that won the SEC to beat OM in Hoover. No way that team was more talented than the teams we beat. But it found ways to win.

We need a pitcher that can DOMINATE one game in 3 though so we dont have as much pressure to win 2-3 in each series.

Everyone is worried of Britton and whether he can handle short. I just think he's getting some freshman jitters worked out. He'll get settled. I also dont worry about the 2nd baseman either at the plate. He found himself this weekend and played very well.

We need the kid that played right field in the last game with Lipscomb to step up and be our game changer on the offensive side. He's got good instincts on the basepaths.

Henderson might have been his name but i think i remember him going 1st to 3rd on a single hit to center. Anyway, the kid has some speed. Liked that.

The reason we got hot then is because Shepherd, Brownlee, etc. decided they wanted to play.<div>
</div><div>We know we've got a solid middle of the lineup. Need guys like Henderson to decide they want to play ball. We're sitting in a pretty good position right now. We've got solid starters in Brownlee (when healthy) Bradford, Frazier, Norris, Rea, Renfroe and Slauter. Need to solidify that last spot and then they have to step up. Britton's not ready, Frost isn't the answer either. I doubt Woodruff will be this year (although he's the Daryl Norris of next year). Alot riding on Henderson in my opinion. </div>

is defense up the middle. We've got WAY too much fumbleitis with our middle infielders. Only Frazier can you somewhat count on to make a defensive play and we've got to do better than that. Seems like lately if you put Frazier at 2B Britton is making constant errors at SS or if you put Frazier at SS then Frost is making errors at 2B. We've got to find a another consistent fielder somewhere on the team that can play a middle infield position. Some have suggested Henderson, and he is looking pretty good at the plate and running the bases, but right now he's been relegated to OF and I don't know how consistent his defense would be either if you put him at 2B.
