After a little research, the answer appears pretty simple

We have to be on our best game to beat Samford. They are a senior-led team with good pitching and they can hit. Stratton can shut them down, and FSU doesn't have out of this world pitching.

FSU's #1 pitcher- if they save him:

Mike Compton
10-2 record
15 starts/75 IP. He's basically going five innings per start.
2.88 ERA, 52 K, 26 BB

In ACC games only: 6-1, 3.59 ERA.

If they don't save him, their #2 pitcher is:

Brandon Leibrandt
6-2 record
15 starts/80.1 IP. Roughly the same innings/start
2.91 ERA, 64 K, 25 BB

In ACC games only: 3-1, 2.41 ERA.

So basically, there isn't a big drop from their #1 to #2. Once they get to their #3, its not competitive. They lost a few Sunday games.

Florida State against NCAA teams at home this season:

NC State 2-1
Miami 3-0
Virginia 3-0
Florida 0-1

That's it.

Against common opponents:
Florida 0-3 (lost games 6-3, 4-1 and 9-2). We went 1-2 , winning 2-0 and losing 4-1 and 2-1.

I would suggest all of the message board geniuses to look at empirical data and make an educated decision. 615 is exactly right and has some statistics to prove it. Pitching Stratton 1rst is the best option and not understanding that and ranting about Cohen making a head scratcher makes you look quite foolish

On another note, Im looking forward to the 615 indexes this football season, some of my favorite post on the pack. Thanks

will more than likely trot Strat out to the hill Fri. Lost in all this is also our team batting average that is ranked 264th out of 291 D1 baseball teams. We just reeled off 8 wins in our last 9 ballgames, and it is no secret how we did that. It sure as hell wasn't because of that abysmal average at the plate. Samford ranks 18th in team average and I don't care who they played or in what conference they play out of, they are not pansies by any stretch of the imagination, nor is their park tiny. So it should be intuitively obvious to even the most casual observer that Cohen et al will have their **** together and make a sound decision on this matter. I have yet to read any drivel on here today that makes a hill of beans of sense other that what 615dawg and Todd have expounded upon. Out.
