After doing some research, its even more puzzling why we switched line-ups....

we were 6-3 before we switch to the 4 guard line-up...our 3 losses:

Charlotte: 4 point loss

Stewart 1-13, 0-8 from 3pt range...
Augustus- 0 points 5 boards- 10 mins
Osby- 10 points 6 boards- 22 mins
Team- 6-26 from 3pt range

Texas Tech: 4 point loss

Stewart- 2-8, 0-5 from 3pt range- 5 points
Augustus- 16 points 9 boards
Osby- 7 points 6 boards
Team- 4-20 from 3pt range

Washing State: 11 point loss

Varnado- 2 points
Augustus- 10 points 4 boards
Osby- 10 points, 0 boards
Stewart and Bost- 3-15 from the field</p>

While they were young and may have lacked some toughness of the defensive end, those 3 losses cant really be pinned on them. There were way worse performances in those games.

That 6-3 record before the switch was against some pretty bad competition. That lineup would have done even worse against the SEC. Haven't we beat this horse to death already? Unfortunately, we are starting the team that gives us the best chance to win now. If Stansbury sacrificed wins for the sake of getting PT for Kodi and Osby then fans would be on him even more than we are now.
They have to earn that extra PT and performances like the one against Auburn don't reinforce confidence in either of them.

I think Kodi being on the **** list has more to do with it than we think. That plus the fact that Brian Johnson is only good for 15 mins a game makes the way we use our big men diffrent in Stans eyes.

I wanted to see a Bost/Ravern/Kodi/Bailey/Varnado line up just one time this year. Not nesesarily starting together just on the floor together at some point. I would take Kodi/Osby take your pick at the three with two great defensive big men backing them up at the basket. We would be 6'3,6'7,6'9,6'9,6'10. For all the zone Stans loves to run why not?

But was that due to the starting lineup or the fact that Stansbury was playing a half-court style game and rotating 12 players in and out.

I wasn't screaming for a 4 guard lineup. I wanted to see us play up-tempo and cut 3 or 4 guys out of the rotation. We could have done that without playing a 6-2 guard at the Four.

PG: Bost
G: Stewart
G: Turner
F: Osby
C: Varnado

I would have to bring Ravern off the bench because his defense has been so bad lately. He would come in for Turner. Bost would play about 36 minutes a game with Stewart spelling him at the point position right before official timeouts. Stewart's minutes would actually decrease though because Turner would play some 2 with this lineup.

Then Augustus, Osby and Varnado would be my 3 man rotaton on the frontline. The only other player who would see the court would be Bailey for about 5 to 7 minutes a game. And we could still push the tempo and jack up 3's with this rotation.</p>

it's the defense. What I observed Saturday against Auburn was the lack of pressure on the ball. It makes no difference if it's the guy bringing it up the court are just an entry pass, we don't get in the guy's' face to make him do one of three things, dribble, pass or shoot. You can't let SEC caliber players dictate what they want to do with the ball, you have to put constant pressure on the ball when it's in the perimeter. Auburn guarded the ball extremely well, thats one reason for our low scoring and poor shooting.
Know doubt we need to shake the lineup, I would make Ravern Johnson our 6th man as he is probably our most consistent outside shooter and he can get score in bunches. He is also our worse defended, if Kodi is worse than Ravern then I kind understand why he doesn't play as theyboth can't be on the fllor at the same time for sure. Man do those two stand around a lot.

but during the period I watched, our defense was poor. Dee gave up 2 wide open shots from the top of the key.... and then the Auburn player (with the long sleeves).... My mouth still hits the floor when I think about ... the closet player was 15 feet away ... and no Bulldog even tried to get out there to him. That's an All-Star game type of defense.

If you play defense like that, you'd better score 90+ points a game to even have a chance of winning.

In those 3 losses, Stewart was 6-31 (less than 20%)...he was 0-13 from 3pt range in two of them combined...Varnado gave us nothing in one...
They have turned out to be scapegoats. When you really look at what they were producing, its insane to say they shouldnt have been playing...

It looks to me that maybe we should have inserted Phil for Stewart- not Augustus and Osby if we wanted to make the line-up better...We have wasted a year with these two guys and probably run Augustus off

Keep defending Stansbury and he is going to make you look stupid just as people defending Crooms were made to.

I merely pointing out that your one trick pony self would have ripped Stansbury even if he had played Osby and Kodi more because we would probably be sitting at around 4-10 in the SEC at this point instead of 7-7. Would that make you more happy? All you did was pick out two guys that played poorly in those losses and assume that someone else would have done better. I could say that Brandon Bolen would have sone better but that does not make it so. You are the dumbass if you think Kodi or Romero would have made us any better at all. You were there saturday and if you have any damn sense at all you should have seen why those two have not been starting. They don't deserve it and no coach worth a **** starts a guy that does not deserve it. Saddly enough we have been playing the guys that give us the best chance of success and for a while it worked. Stansbury needs to make adjustments now or this season is over I will give you that but at the time the small lineup was our best chance. Everyone does not have your gift of hindsight or repetition.

All of your dumbshit is 100% hypothetical and you act as if it is a certainty. I just want us to win. I don't give a **** who the coach is. Can't say the same for you.

Everything any of us post is 100% pure specualtion and opinion, including myself. I base my opinion off of the 12 ballgames I have seen in person and the poor defense and sloppiness with the ball that I have seen with Osby and Kodi. What are you and Coach basing your opinions on? THe fact that they are tall? The fact that they look good in the uniform?
Stansbury has done a ****** job coaching the last 2 games. I don't defend that but I am baffled as to what the hell you two have seen out of Kodi and Romero that would suggest we would be better with them taking up more minutes.
