After looking at the Ken Pomeroy ratings for BB, I feel better...

very detailed. Interesting that he has us rated 12th in the nation, sharing the SEC overall championship and only being underdogs in one future game (at Ole Miss).

The law of statistics is showing something that states Kentucky will go 10-6 in the SEC - that's weird, but his methodology.

Here's what he has:

NCAA teams:
Tennessee 13-3
MSU 13-3
Ole MIss 12-4
Kentucky 10-6
Florida 10-6

Well I don't know about 13 and 3 for us, but I thnk 11 and 5, or maybe 12 and 4 is very reasonable. We always seem to struggle at Ole Miss, and we have troubles in Arkansas too. UK and Tenn at home will be tough, and at Florida also. I think we should sweep LSU, Auburn, and Bama. A 12-4 SEC record would put us in good shape going into the SEC Tourney. Probably a 1 seed in the West, and the opportunity to maybe have somewhere around 6 seed in the NCAA.

If you have trouble in Arkansas this year, you are in trouble.

Right now they look to be about as good as a late 80s/early 90s Ole Miss basketball team.

Arkansas is bad. I agree though. Those records are probably overstated on Pomeroy simply because I think the SEC as a whole will be really competitive this year, with the exception of the dregs (LSU, Auburn, Arkansas, and UGA). The rest should offer some tough match ups, especially for the road games. Bama is a step above the dregs, and I think they may give some teams trouble on their home floor.

in SEC, then Ken Pomeroy should jump off of a cliff (unless he knows that John Wall is going to get hurt before SEC play starts).

Seriously, UK will win 12 games minimum... but probably win 13 or 14, with a chance at 15 in the SEC. They are that good.

but his forumula is like 95% accurate in predicting teams records within three wins/losses. So, Kentucky could be 13-3 and we could be 10-6 and he would still be considered accurate.
