I believe our db's do better in man coverage. Seems like most of the big pass plays given up were in some kind of zone. What do you guys think

there is a time and place for zone certainly, but we just dont seem to flourish when we run it. whatever team x is we are playing, they seem to find the soft spot more often than not. from there, its just a matter of execution on whether or not they convert the down. we tend to settle in zone and not adjust with receivers in the area. just my .02

I think what you saw in the first 3 games was some of the most high school play calling ever on Collins' part, and we got burned on really conservative prevent-style coverage. But it worked, because LSU acted as if they didn't know what the 17 was going on.

I agree though. I'd prefer it to come down to a cat fight in the air than playing a reactive style where we simple knock the **** out of them after they've caught the ball.

The good news is that outside of Auburn, the other schools' best receivers run over the middle. I'd love to see Wells on Amari Cooper.

Auburn's Williams is going to murder us though.

Watching replay on SEC network and the long faces of the LSU faithful is priceless. Absolutely priceless.

Not sure if you watched the Auburn-KState game, but I didn't think Nick Marshall looked very good at all. I think we will handle him much better this year.

The biggest threat to us is an accurate passer in my opinion.

Yeah we really need to win this tam game. If we do we could have a serious run for it all. Matchup wise I believe they are the most serious threat. But I have some serious faith in collins and you can bet the players are going to be focused, they know what's at stake. Hopefully we can run it well and get a few breaks

I did, and without Williams they lose that game by a wide margin. He made every much-needed catch it seemed like, namely the horrible ball thrown to his back that he caught to ice the game.

Marshall is capable of at least getting passes off, and an outside receiver of Williams' size worries me more than any slot receiver.
