1-6 with a double digit loss in egg bow

not saying it will happen, but thats a pretty fireable offense. i guess, who knows.

over the last few weeks, I was curious, what do most of you honestly think would have to happen with the remaining schedule for that to happen? if at all?

Never thought I'd agree with a Rebel, but this guy is right. Us bulldogs are

too quick to mail it in. Bowling Green would beat UK and Arkansas. I don't remember us acting like this after nearly getting beat by UAB in 2010 or La Tech in 2011.

Good lord, y'all are losing your minds. There is no way you are losing to Kentucky or Arkansas. They are both pathetic, as in worse than BG. Y'all have really had your minds tainted by ole miss winning this week. Damn, take a step back.

We will win 2-3 of the next 4--either USCe or ATM, and one or both of Arky/Kentucky. I have no idea about who wins the Egg Bowl at this point. I suspect we will be 5-6 going into the Egg Bowl though.

You`re probably right but just the fact that so many have lost so much confidence in Mullen is a problem that is significant in itself. This will start showing up in the collection plate, recruiting and a bunch of other places if he can`t get it turned around pretty damn quick.

While you make good points I would say that it isn't just your LSU win. It is

the fact that people have gotten fed up with the status quo and want more out of our football leadership than we are getting. I think the success in Baseball is feeding some of this, hell we just played for a National Championship. If people don't feel like we are heading in the right direction then the music will get louder and louder.

I'm not sure that even losing the remaining 6 games would get him fired. He'll get at least one more year.

Honestly, I think we could go 1-11, with the one win being the Bears, and half the MSU fans would be happy. But not me.

What if we win out?

If we win out, he'd likely get a raise. That would make him 9-3 with 6 SEC wins. It's a lot better to do bad at the beginning of the season and then win at the end ... the opposite of last year. Winning conference games is at the top of the list too.

However ... if we lose to Kentucky, I think that would put the staff, fans, and team in such a bad mood that we might very well lose the 5 after that.

If we won out we'd have a good shot at going to Atlanta. We'd have beaten A&M and Bama, and with a little help from Georgia, A&M, and LSU it'd be a math race for who would go.

This isn't a prediction thread. The question was asked what would have to happen for Mullen to lose his job. After going to three bowl games, he's not getting fired for going 5-7. He's probably not getting fired for going 4-8, but as you said, Arkansas and UK are terrible and an embarrassing lost to one of them and finishing with the best win being a one point victory over BG would put it in play.

If you want a prediction, I think every game we have is winnable except for Bama. A&M and UM are solid but very flawed, USCe is jekyl and hyde, and UK and Ark are terrible. But seeing as how we lost a very winnable game against Auburn and **** the bed versus a very flawed team in Ok St., I'd have to predict 2 and 4 to finish.

I am not happy at all with how we have played this season but at the end of the day most of us thought we would be somewhere between 7-5 at best and 5-7 at worst this season based off the schedule alone so there is definitely a degree of over-reaction to our current situation at 3-3.

I think 4 wins would justify some serious heat put to Mullen but not sure about his firing.

It's not really the record. In the last 4 games where we've had pretty equal talent (Egg bowl, Gator Bowl, Ok St., and Auburn), we've **** the bed. Most damning, we made it clear in the Ok St. game that we didn't address any of the problems that were evident last year.

Also, while everybody was predicting somewhere between 5-7 wins, I don't think anybody thought our schedule would be this easy. Ok St and A&M were potentially very good teams that now appear to be somewhere closer to the 20-30 range than 5-15. USCe has looked pretty shaky at times although generally good. LSU is also weaker although still good assuming Mettenberger doesn't fall apart. Alabama is still probably too good to matter, but they are at least mortal. Basically Auburn and Ole Miss are the only schools that have turned out to be in the upper range of expectations, but that still puts them in what should be the toss up category. When you're playing a bunch of top 15 teams and crappy teams, it's hard to get that breakthrough win. But Dan will have 6 chances this year to beat teams that are solid to good but not great teams. All he has to do is come through in one of those games and people will be off his back. If he doesn't come through in any of them? I think it's reasonable for people to be a little pissed, especially since the coaching staff basically through away the opportunity to compete in the first one.

Hell I know it is a 17ing huge stretch, but if we are asking if he loses out what will happen we should ask about if he wins out as well.

I think we blow out Kentucky, beat USC or aTm and then get our first win at Arkansas.

I will reserve Ole Miss until later. Right now I think it is too close to call with a slight edge in their favor… but, a few more injuries could have them really limping down the stretch.

We may as well have lost the BG game. I think that's the one game that has made me start to lose confidence in Mullen.

Losing to Auburn was almost an accident, and as it turns out, they're a pretty good team. We played well that game. And everybody would have been shocked if we'd won over LSU, and losing to Ok State was pretty much expected.

But the BG game was one of the worst we've played in recent memory ... and the meltdown last year didn't help at all. Had that not happened, we could write the BG game off as just not caring given our schedule.

Finish worse than 3-3 and find a fan base that actually cares about fielding a team to be proud of and proud to cheer for.

That's because a lot of those old farts that think like that are still around, and some young ones who are simply ignorant.
