over Virginia's coach. (sarcasm, somewhat)

Not saying that O'Conner is a bad coach, wouldn't succeed at MSU, or anything like that. Everyone has bad days and make bad decisions from time to time, and I'm not going to judge a coach on one game.

BUT why not put your closer in to start the ninth inning in a one run game? I know this is second guessing, but it's not like it wasn't a one run game or anything.

I'm kind of dumbfounded by that. And yes, I know the error and HBP hurt Virginia and it wasn't the pitcher's fault, well excpet for the HBP, but you also have a closer that's pretty good and has been there before and I just think you should put your guy in a save situation to get you know, get the save.

left handed. The defensive replacement at second was the bigger mistake. He made that error to begin the inning, then struck out later. That bunt was also questionable.

Bases loaded, 1 out and laid an egg. Or um won it in the 5th, however you want to look at it. It could have been broken open at that point, but um shut it down.

and that was one of them.

But they still had the lead in the ninth, nonetheless. And with the 8th and 9th place hitters coming up.

But to me, your coach has more control over a pitching change than what the hitters do at the plate. If the other team makes good pitches, and you squander an opportunity on like that, that's bad, but you also have to tip your cap to the other team to an extent. There's nothing that the other team can do to stop you from putting your closer in.

To me that's what makes it so bad.

games in which they led going into the 8th. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess the guy might know what he's doing.

that their closer might have had something to do with that stat.</p>
