After the Peterson let down.....I got a sick feeling.....

That we aren't going to be getting anybody that's any good..or that's been proven to be good at a decent level....that Greg will have to settle for some no name flusee that we will all have to go google his name to see who this person is and what he has done..I am just sick and tired of settling.....its pretty bad when Boise State coach that barely makes a million a year turns us down when he can be making over 2 million a year here......I graduate from State back in 94, say what you like about Jackie....but the guy convinced me we could win....and we did for awhile....Greg better not go cheap and find someone who can get the job done.

<div style="text-align: left;"> So just because Petersen said no to us like he has everyone else in the country then we will not get a decent coach? You realize how stupid you sound?

I feel the same way, and I am sure most of on here felt that way yesterday. If we cannot hire the best HC out there right now then we need to go ahead and take a chance on an OC either Mullen or Wilson. Watching OU and reading about Wilson he would seem to fit well at MSU.

My thoughts exactly... there are about a hundred coaches out there that would be willing to come to state that would be an upgrade from what we had

If I was making 50,000 and my salary would double if I moved to Starkville, I probably would. That would take me from lower middle class/upper poor to middle class.

But...if I was making 1 mil and my salary only doubled to 2 mil, no way in hell. It's all relative.

Plus Boise is awesome.

I see your point.....and Boise has more going for it....but if you think about it ....the city of Auburn, Al has 30,000 or 40,000 more people then in starkville, its not much bigger and if they can win.....why the hell we can't?....I just hope Greg knows what he is doing?

You get way to freaking high (possiblity of Petersen).... and then you get way to low(reported rejection of Petersen). Settle down don't get your hopes up or spirits pissed on before the freaking coach is named.

I mean really same thing exists with this Russel kid... He is good, but there are way to many people that are way to high on him... and when we don't get him or he sucks (like most every QB@MSU)...they will be way down in the dumps.

If only we have some modicum of reasonableness State fans would realize that there is much more to be positive about READ: CROOM RESIGNS than negative about.

if we think Wilson, Graham, Gill, or Holtz are acceptable hires that only means that Auburn will have their shot at them first and any other viable option out there. We'll get sloppy seconds no matter what in this case, which still might be a solid option.

We hired Jackie in 1991 for $75,000. We could get Bobby Wallace or some other needy coach for $100,000 easy.

Yeah, um ok. You start out your post by saying after Petersen turned us down you got a sick feeling and that you think we are going to end up with a no name coach. Then you say this crap? What do you mean you will not be ignored much longer? Do you suggest that we fire GB and get an AD that will get us a name coach? I can promise you that GB is working on that and you are not going to find anyone that will put forth better effort. If you can think of someone else who would have done a better job at working Petersen, I would like to hear it.

Edit to add: Damn, by the time I typed this he already committed suicide.

That's harsh, HD6.

I knew I wasn't going to make it in engineering at MSU when I passed the junior English proficiency exam.
Different sides of the brain at work.

You are a great writer, as demonstrated on your General Concensus board, but...

Please.

Some folks have thoughts they can't express in a grammatically correct fashion.
You have engineers posting here.

I'm just sayin' [ebonics]

Your board; your rules, always.

I would guess the puntuation remark was somewhat of a joke. No him telling HD to go "strew" himself was probably enough to send him back to jort boy
