You know this is fake news, right? You know some people might believe this, right?

(Just offering the obligitory statement that seems to follow every BB post)
Think most are aware BB was well known satire site, if not it's on them to find out.
Afternoon chuckle should have been a clue.

This isn't BB but still one of the funniest satirical headlines and stories I've ever read.

Not satire: they paid $700 million for that rebranding effort

From what i read, they are going back to the old logo, but are they planning to undo all the renovations that made up the lions share of that 700 million?

I would assume they are keeping the store remodels, but not sure. At the least, they spent several million on the logo. Can't be a great look for a CEO when you spend millions on a logo that only lasts a week.

Their real problem is their food quality and service has gone to hell.
That's restaurants in general. Generally not even enjoyable eating out any longer. Most restaurants may never recover from Covid.

Where we are, the only restaurants that are consistently good are Texas Roadhouse. Always great service and food. It's not even particularly my favorite restaurant, but the service makes it worth it.

Agree, eating out is not what it used to be.
Also, you are right about Texas Roadhouse. It's the only place that is consistently packed with customers so they must be doing something right.
Eating out used to be special, now I try to avoid it unless its a high end place. I always seem to be disappointed when I eat out but I do enjoy it when I can go to Charleston or Savana.

CB also removed pride content from their website.

I'm not an ad man, but I can't say I understand the rationale of alienating your core consumer demographic to try appealing to another one.

I've been to Cracker Barrell just a couple times. I was traveling via Interstate from one destination to another.
There wasn't anything I found memorable about their restaurants.
Why anyone is making an emotional investment into the CB logo is baffling to me.

And now Cracker Barrel has dropped the restaurant remodels as well:

Keep in mind they hired 3 (THREE) marketing firms to come up with this overall rebrand, spent $700 million, and have now scrapped the whole thing.

And extremely understandable to those who do.

When I go out to eat the last thing I'm looking for is home cooking. šŸ™‚

It was a lot of food for the price, back in the day I suppose. I haven't been in a long time so maybe they have shrunk the portions and raised prices in sympathy with whatever competition there is now.

Yeah, different people care about different things.

I might go to CB a handful of times in a year, but I like the cozy environment. It's nice in the winter when the fire is going.

The sterile, white remodels looked almost like they had Joanna Gaines decorate an operating room.

"Similarly, sides such as bacon, green beans, turnips, pinto beans, corn, and carrots are pre-cooked the day before and simply reheated, leading to complaints that flavors are now watery or overcooked, employees claimed."

You certainly are not going to be taking a serious reduction in quality .

Cooking food ahead of time just leads to spoilage and waste. Anyone who's watched Kitchen Nightmares would know this! šŸ˜„
