On the MSU offense's fourth-down struggles (6-for-15): "I think some of it's attitude, some of it's just guys getting it done. In our conference, everybody's going to line up and try to run the football on you. Because that's the safest way to do it without turning the football over. Some years you've just got the people to get it done with, some years you don't."

It couldn't possibly be ****** playcalling could it? It couldnt possibly be that you have designed a play where your QB takes the ball from under center, walks three steps back, hands the ball to your stationary 245 lb running back, only then to get his momentum going towards an offensive line that is already pushed 3 yards into your backfield. Seriously, Croom just needs to go sit in on a physics class.

Simple: Snap, pivot, hand ball to Dixon (who is already barreling towards the LOS) and move on to the next play. That would have at least gotten us to 9 or 10 for 15 in the 4th down department.

Maybe he could use that bus he is driving over all of our players to get a 1st down.

Some years you've just got the people to get it done with, some years you don't

You know his players have to be feeling all warm and fuzzy about that one. Say it once and you can probably consider it to be motivational. Say it in every interview and you start killing your team's confidence and their respect for you as a coach.

I am so done with this clown.

That's not even close to being good enough to deserve to keep his job.

Been a long day and maybe I'm missing something here, but if it's fourth down and you're going for it, short of a pick 6 why would a turnover be a consideration. If you don't get the necessary yardage it's a turnover anyway

could we possibly get one dang reporter to ask Croom why he doesn't have a QB sneak in the playbook or if he does, why he refuses to ever use it on 4th and inches?????!!!! Its absolutely the toughest play to stop with a half a yard to go or less but we refuse to use it. We prefer to give it to Dixon 6 yards deep in the backfield and let him make it after the defense has had time to penetrate a yard or two past the line of scrimmage. Usually the only chance Dixon has to make the needed yardage (even if he doesn't tiptoe) is to break 2 or 3 tackles to get there. Heck, even a fullback dive would be much better and quicker to the line than the mess we run. Its asinine to give 9 defensive guys that kind of time to penetrate your backfield when you just need a few inches. In fact, if Lee ran a sneak the defense probably wouldn't even be able to find him behind the offensive linemen.

......either black or white to him, and gray is prohibited from entering the room. If he has the players to get that tough yard or two up the gut, then great. If he doesn't have the players to do it, then we'll just suck and like it. You don't try to adjust and mask your weaknesses, you just preach patience until the one day you're able to execute it. And that's that.

Croom was coy about what has been going on at practice in recent days.
Crxxms is back to his almost weekly "I know something you don't know. Hee hee hee," routine. Seriously, Crxxms, just shut the hell up. We all know your junior high antics about what you've been doing in practice (which is probably standing in a circle, holding hands, and singing Kumbayah) won't amount to a damn thing during the game on Saturday. You'll say some **** like "just watch Saturday," then we'll show up and lay another typical turd in the middle of Bryant Denny. 17 you, Crxxms. You've killed all the joy I used to have in MState football.

making the first down than he is of not making the first, just like he was afraid to press the attack against LSU before the end of the first half. The man has no confidence in his players and probably his coaches too. To him, smash mouth foorball is the Bear's way and is the safe and secure way to win. The problem is he doesn't have the players to play smash mouth in this league and refuses to adjust. His stubborn *** will never change and unless Byrne pulls the tigger before the end of the year the program will be 17ed for years to come.

On a separate note, I've trying to decide if I'm going to watch the game this Saturday or have someone beat me to a pulp with a baseball bat. I figure they'll both feel about the same.

That sounds frighteningly like it's Croom's version of "that's baseball"

Every one of Crxxm's teams have sucked ***. The only difference between 2007 and the other 4 teams is the 2007 team was lucky as hell.

who can help us by playing standing on the sidelines and scoring touchdowns being neglected. Perhaps there's another super secret weapon that will get to touch the ball one or two times this weekend.

Not that I am an expert on the matter, but this means the kid loses a year of school that has been paid for. All the payments if takes to send a kid to college at Mississippi State runs around 15-20K when you count in food, room, board, tuition, a little fun money. This kid loses all this because of a dumb *** coach and his stupid *@@#!%# decisions. I am not a parent (I don't think) but I know there are many on this board with kids. Shouldn't the parents be completely pissed off at this incompetent coach for making them spend all this extra money. My parents would be. I could only imagine Croom giving the "I'm a man I'm 40" speech all over ESPN.

The athletic department typically pays for books and tuition for as long at it takes former players to get their degrees.
