Damn. I don't know that we ever came close to that in 2003.

And, Wilson is still playing. Why the hell wouldn't you play a backup? They guy is getting murdered.

Spanky, you get dumber every time you post.

He's saying they need to pull Wilson because they're down by 40+ and he's getting blown up every play - and might get hurt.

Are you saying uPig's problems are not QB related by rather Defensive and maybe OL related? What I really find hard to believe is that it comes down to coaching... the talent was in place and the only difference is a last moment coaching fiasco.... Was Petrino that Fing good? Or are the uPig players that big of head case pussies that they can't get it done without sucking their thumbs and ol' coachie Petrino?

Petrino defenses were always terrible...

But, he is a once-in-a-generation type of offensive genius that can take average players and make a potent offense anywhere he goes.

John L Smith is making a mockery of himself, but it sounds like he couldn't afford to turn down this no-win situation. Upig is a dumpster fire right now and probably will be for a while.

What does history say about getting your only offensive weapon hurt in a game you are down by 40?

I'll tell you. It says you know you dont care one damn thing about what the fanbase or your boss will do next to you if he gets hurt. It's over.

Smith is playing now with the idea of where he might next get a job.

This isnt about the backup doing better, and they rarely do. Or a fanbase that thinks that. It's about a team in shambles and a coach that has no concept of tomorrow.

Read this article about why Louisville crashed post Petrino. Pretty good article into how Petrino coaches.

http://www.wdrb.com/story/19625175/crawford-why-post-petrino-life-is-no-picnic

Under Petrino, something like a cell phone ringing in the offensive meeting room was a major infraction. If Paul Petrino heard a phone ring in one of his meetings, there was no telling what might happen. Forget confiscation, the phone would be lucky to survive, and the player might feel lucky to survive. In the first offensive meeting under Charlie Stubbs, Kragthorpe's new offensive coordinator, a phone rang, and players sat up in their seats, cringing almost reflexively. Stubbs stopped speaking, the phone rang once more before it could be silenced, there was an expectant moment of quiet, then he continued without acknowledging it.
