Junaid is a two-star recruit according to both Scout.com and Rivals.com. He's the seventh verbal commitment secured by the Rebels for the 2009 recruiting class.

"Once I got on campus and saw Ole Miss, I liked it right away," Junaid said. "Everybody knows the SEC is the best conference in the country and I wanted to be a part of that."

Junaid had 66 tackles and three interceptions as a junior. He also had scholarship offers from Buffalo, Louisiana-Lafayette and Montana State.

Also, when Orgeron was there, the Spirit board would have crashed when this guy committed. They blasted MSU when we got a commit that had offers from USM, Tulane and Vanderbilt. Funny how things change.

"Yancy, this guy is a 2*? Any chance we can get him bumped up to a 3 or low 4* because his video is impressive and he looks good on the hoof."

these kind of players -- half our team is two star and under. I'm happy with our recruiting class so far on its own merits, not compared to what Ole Miss is doing.

I would take him over some of our current commits. He will knock your *** off and I bet they will put weight on him and he will be a linebacker..
Look for yourself...check out his video.

It's not whether the player will be good or not or looks good on tape (don't they all)... It's the fact that for 3 years every Rebel that does (or in Bruisers case "doesn't") follow recruiting ONLY cared about stars and the quality of other offers the player had.

Basically this would have been laughed at while we would be trying to find the positive...

And Mike Henig has a rocket arm in his videos.... Lance Long is blazing fast and runs great routes in his videos... Tee Milons can catch everything thrown within 5 feet of him in his videos.

Hell you put 2 minutes of video together from my 4 years of high school football, I look like I can cover better than Smoot and hit harder than Willie Evans.

So in turn, you're now laughing while a lot of our fans try to find the positive. And I'm sure the roles will reverse again the next time we start putting together a good class on paper and yours is weaker on paper. I've personally got no problems with 2 stars. One of our top 3 corners, Cassius Vaughn was a 2 star. One of our 2nd team DTs, Lawon Scott, that will likely be a starter next year was a 2 star. Shay Hodge and Mike Wallace, our two best receivers, were both 2 stars. Our back up LT, Bradley Sowell, who will start next year as a redshirt sophomore was a 2 star. And of course, Patrick Willis was a 2 star, as we all know by now.

You're right that it's funny now to watch people go from believing recruiting rankings mean everything to justifying low ranked recruits. Of course, it's also just as funny to watch people go from justifying 2 star classes to checking the recruiting rankings every morning.

new poster. Now, I'm not opposed to new posters, but when you start out like this is makes me raise an eyebrow. Either you are pumping this **** because you really believe it or you are too stupid to realize the point WalkTheDawg is making. Everyone looks good on a highlight video. That's why they call it a HIGHLIGHT video. They tend to leave out the fumbles and the missed reads.
