I think I would be changing that name. He is a sophomore, so I'm assuming he was born probably just before the Oklahoma City terrorist attack by McVeigh. If he was born after, what were the parents thinking?

A question about the name had to be asked.

Timothy McVey wasn't offended.

"I get questioned on my name all the time, especially at airports," said the Air Force sophomore running back, who was born eight months before Timothy McVeigh carried out the most deadly act of domestic terrorism in the nation's history in Oklahoma City.

McVey has been told there was talk of using his middle name or even changing his name, but those thoughts were shelved.

"My parents," he said, "were just like, 'You know what, we'll stick it out.'"

Its just a name. Sucks for him that someone with his name did something so horrible but it is still just words. Anyone offended by his name needs to get a life.

I grew up with three brothers who's last name started with a "K". Their Dad named them so all three of the boys initials were "KKK".

The old man was a dick, but the boys were good guys despite him.

I knew a Jesse James Sr. and Jr. then, too. However the son was known as "Bub" and still is.

People have always named their kids goofy crap. Jim Hogg, 20th Governor of Texas named his daughter "Ima". Ima Hogg turned out just fine. The most famous man in Lincoln County in my time, other than Chuck Yeager, was Hogjaw Twaddle. He owned Hogjaw's Meat Market. His market had a spot on the first year or so of "Statewide Sportsline". I don't know if Hogjaw is still with us or not.
