Airhorns

So watching the CSS replay right now of the Egg Bowl... 13-13 drive when Relf eventually throws a TD to green. On first down right at the snap 2 very loud airhorns, 2nd down as Relf is about to pass - 2 very loud airhorns, on the XP as the kicker is about to kick 1 airhorn...

I didn't notice this during the game but I know there was a thread on this before the game... Was this something people noticed at the game? Obviously (hopefully) our fans weren't the ones doing that. yet to hear it on an Ole Miss play.

And yes HUGE difference from the constant sound of cowbells vs. the shriek of an airhorn at the snap.

I didn't notice it during the game, and didn't notice one until after the game when I saw some girl carrying one around.

I've always said that if the other teams players are more worried about cowbells vs beating our team, then their priorities aren't in the right place. And I feel the same about airhorns with our team.

Yes, you hear an airhorn a lot during the game. Especially early on in the game and it is obvious who is using the thing given the situations. I don't really care though. Let them obsess about cowbells. I think it is funny. Just think about how pissed off you have to be to make the effort to go buy the airhorn. Carry it with you into the stadium and explain to all your friends and family why you are carrying around an air horn.

One of the funniest things I have ever seen was in Oxford one year. A rebel fan, grown man with his son, was standing at the NE gate of their stadium. There were a good number of States fans entering at that gate as our seats where near there. So, this guy is bitching out the gate attendants for not checking for cowbells. I mean this guy is red faced, yelling. The cobra security comes over and tells the guy to take a hike. He walks away yelling in the direction of State fans, that he will call the cops if he sees one cowbell. A State fan pipes up....."Check this man for sticks."

On the cowbells, it is very obvious to me that OM fans bitching about cowbells only inspires State fans to bring cowbells. When the camera showed the crowd, it looked like every other person had a bell. In all my years of going to game at Scott Field, I have never seen that ratio of cowbells to fans.

Those airhorns didn't last long at all! I only heard them like 2 or 3 times and that was it. Those airhorns can't compete against those cowbells! But what really pissed me off even more was those stupid flags that they brought in! Either way you look at it, both are pretty gay.
