Word out there is that Oweh was $3 million, Garrison about $1.5 million, Jelly around $1 million, and Williams around $500,000.

That comes out to AJ's asking price, and that's a trade I make every day of the week.

Hopefully this staff will have the guts to let a few guys walk after this season so we can bring in someone like Stokes instead of running a mediocre product back.

None of us want to see who they would pay 6 mil. It definitely wouldn’t be AJ

There really isn’t a battle for #1 according to NBA scouts from a video I watched recently. They were saying there wasn’t anything someone could do that would cause them to see anyone other than Darryn Peterson as the first pick. He’s getting Michael Jordan comparisons.
Don’t know what I said that deserved the laugh emoji @ZaytovenCat . I didn’t say I’m comparing Peterson to Jordan. NBA scouts are. Pretty sure it’s all in this video.

Rumor is Aberdeen got close to $3M. I’d trade him, BG and Jelly for AJ. Then again the numbers might still not matchup because I specifically remember some media member report that AJ was getting $8M this year. This was back in the summer.

Pope had nil at byu.
Did you not comprehend what I said? For whatever reason, last year was the first year every one went crazy on throwing big "nil" dollars at recruits. Last year. The year after Pope left BYU.
I didn’t say that.

But thanks for the personal attack. Let’s me know you got nothing.
Lol...ok. you clearly got nothing

Obviously we don’t know for sure since it never happened but there is a good chance that AJ would not have ended up at BYU if Pope was there .

Besides the money I remember them saying BYU had an NBA level type staff which led to AJ wanting to go there . That most likely wouldn’t have happened if Pope was there. NIL and preparing him for the next level .

BYU is going to be good at sports now thanks to NIL, it’s a rich alumni.

The problem with living in a constant state of “what could’ve been” is that it’s a guaranteed way to be miserable. That mindset never leads to happiness, only frustration. This is our team. This is who we have for the rest of the season. And at some point, actual fans cheer for the team on the floor, not the imaginary one in their head.

We’ve got solid pieces and we’re finally getting healthy. Did we land Dybantsta or every elite recruit? No. And unless someone invents a time machine, that’s not changing. So let’s drop the what if Olympics. What if you married a movie star? What if you won the lottery? What if you started a billion dollar company? Non of that matters because what ifs don’t count.

What ifs don’t add value. They don’t help the team, and they don’t help you. Sure, we can aim higher going forward. I hope we land elite prospects this off season. We do have one elite talent and I actually think you’ll see JQ climb right alongside Dybantsta on draft boards maybe even pass him in time.

We’re Kentucky. We’ve got a capable roster. Try cheering for what is instead of mourning what never was.
Post of the year. Nice job.

Easy to say things like that when it's not your money. Heck, why not offer him 30 million?
I'm talking about it being a good investment in terms of how much we supposedly spent. We could have spent 6 million on him and still had plenty for more good players ( assuming our NIL spending is even somewhat close to the reports)

So basically the cost of Kam William, Oweh, Garrison, and Jelly combined? I'd make that trade. Especially since it was Oweh's foul that led to Lowe being injured in the Blue/White game.

C - JQ - Moreno - Potter
F - Mo D - AJ
F - AJ - Noah - Hawthorne
G - Aberdeen - Chandler - Johnson
G - Lowe - Aberdeen - Johnson
Pretty Easy to say on Dec 23rd. If Pope let's go of a pre season 1st team All SEC player for a Frosh, and AJ is a bust, everyone is calling for his head

This is a great point. It’s one of the biggest issues I have with roster complainers. I tip my cap to those who said the roster sucked in the off-season (such as Eagles Ball). Even though I disagree that the roster sucks, they aren’t using a posthoc, retcon argument —- they are remaining consistent. Others said the roster was good in the offseason and now are complaining —- to me, that’s silly.

That’s why I laughed. It wasn’t directed at you. Just the notion that people are comparing him to Jordan. I think Peterson is great but that comparison is kinda crazy.

I just call it like it is. Based on how things are going with Stokes and Collins and based on Pope’s portal history, that’s the way it likely goes.
Pope’s portal history where we just had the 2nd best portal class, including a possible top 5 NBA draft pick, a former national champion 6th man, one of the highest rated 3&D players who had 3 years of eligibility left, one of the top rebounding glue guys with final four experience, an All-ACC point guard and paired all that with a returning Preseason SEC POY?

Yeah, he’s awful in the portal and these very accurate takes are definitely not sour grapes. Intellectually honest for sure.
