BYU is going to be good at sports now thanks to NIL, it’s a rich alumni.
The problem with living in a constant state of “what could’ve been” is that it’s a guaranteed way to be miserable. That mindset never leads to happiness, only frustration. This is our team. This is who we have for the rest of the season. And at some point, actual fans cheer for the team on the floor, not the imaginary one in their head.
We’ve got solid pieces and we’re finally getting healthy. Did we land Dybantsta or every elite recruit? No. And unless someone invents a time machine, that’s not changing. So let’s drop the what if Olympics. What if you married a movie star? What if you won the lottery? What if you started a billion dollar company? Non of that matters because what ifs don’t count.
What ifs don’t add value. They don’t help the team, and they don’t help you. Sure, we can aim higher going forward. I hope we land elite prospects this off season. We do have one elite talent and I actually think you’ll see JQ climb right alongside Dybantsta on draft boards maybe even pass him in time.
We’re Kentucky. We’ve got a capable roster. Try cheering for what is instead of mourning what never was.
