False.

How do you rank coaches with zero top 10 wins ahead of Franklin?

Matt Rhule, Obrien and Golden have have 0 wins vs the top 10 for their careers. Is that better or worse?

Most coaches have 0 wins vs the top 10. Top 10 go about 110-10 during the regular season and you somehow think everyone has a good record vs the top 10.

How about listing the bottom 10 and we will compare.

I don't care who you are, that's funny right there ... a JoeBot, who wants to return to the glory of 4 decades ago, and who can't get over what happened like 15 years ago, acting like it's mockable to comment on what happened earlier this year. It takes all kinds.

I also recall the same play vs. Ohio State busting for a TD by Purdue to defeat OSU the same year.
Bottom line, game day coaching is not nearly as important as recruiting and year long training and skill development. Plus a successful week of game prep. By the way, running right at a quick and aggressive defender is a coaching fundamental as old as the game itself.
And against OSU, if the blocker would have made his block, that run would have been a TD.

Calls on both sides of the ball are primarily based on established trends. But there's an old saying in coaching circles....depends on who has the chalk last...meaning there is a D to counter every playcall and vice versa.
I recall our OT game against Minnesota in 2016 where they had been stuffing Barkley running up the middle all game…then in OT Morehead called a run up the middle and Barkley broke it for the game winning TD. Nobody complained about that play call, but if Barkley would have been stopped, posters on here would have trashed the coach.

The bum ruined the program.
Not a bum, but I agree with the sentiment.

Notice that Michigan State, Auburn, Florida, Arkansas, UCLA, and Kentucky were BIG or SEC teams where Franklin did not land. He ended up at a meh program in the ACC.

Obviously other power conference teams did not think any more highly of him than those of us who wished him gone years ago.

Wait, wut? So, because he didn't land at ... Kentucky, for instance, he ruined our program? I can't even process that, it's so poorly thought out. Specifically regarding Kentucky, which seems like a crap job, regardless ... the job wasn't even available until after Franklin was hired at VA Tech. So, now Franklin is being blamed for not inventing a time machine?

Regardless, we have NO CLUE if Franklin wanted any of those jobs. Maybe, because he's been up and down the east coast with his family over the years, he wanted to stay there, if possible? And he ended up landing a P4 job in an area with which he's generally familiar (recruiting, etc.). Oh noes! Franklin was linked to the Florida job ... now, of course, all the folks who have agendas, or fake inside knowledge, will spew their speculation as fact as to why that didn't happen ... but, apparently, there was some mutual interest there ... I guess Florida was toying with the idea of ruining their program, too?

Your post is just SO poorly thought out.

Holy crap ... no wonder no coaches wanted to come here and be subjected to this insanity.

He will average 10.5.m per year for the next 5 years. Imagine what he would earn if he knew what he was doing like you?

Minnesota was on first down, not a 4th down play like tOSU. A play with pressure, but not do or die.

Doesn’t matter…it’s easy to call plays after the fact and many of the couch coaches on here forget that’s what they’re doing.
