Does this game affect us at all? Does our rpi get a bump if the zips win?

Sorry I'm drunk and want to know who to root for.

As crazy as it may sound, an Akron win does not enhance our RPI numbers this late in the season. We are at #74. We could moved ahead a spot if Akron wins.<div>
</div><div>The downside is Akron is sitting at an RPI of 51. If they win, they'll jump into the Top 50.</div><div>
</div><div>Our Top 50 record is currently at 2-4 (Top 100 5-5). We don't want that to go to 2-5 (of course, the Top 100 goes to 5-4). In the eyes of the committee, 2-4 looks wayyy better than 2-5 especially with this years bubble teams sporting worse Top 50 records like 1-10, 1-8, 2-8, etc.</div><div>
</div><div>So, go Ohio Bobcats!!</div>

that make me hope that some day, we can just beat the crappy teams in our league and not have to sweat out battles between the 4th and 5th best teams in Ohio (and the others like it that shave decimal points off our borderline RPI) for a tourney spot.

Akron has been called an embarrassing loss all season. Can't say that anymore if they are the reg. season and conference champs of the MAC. A historically tough league in the NCAA tournament. Go Zips!!!!

but it turned out to be okay. They have been in the 60s-70s range for most of the season.<div>
</div><div>Akron's RPI has dropped to 54 after the loss. We are still 2-4 vs the Top 50 as against 2-5 if Akron had won.</div>
