They return 8 starters off a defense that gave up 10.9 points per game. AJ McCarron, TJ Yeldon, and Amari Cooper return from an offense that averaged 38.7 points per game that was good for 2nd in the SEC. They lost some on the OL but they will reload. Somebody give me a good reason they won't be the national champions again.

SEC! SEC! SEC!

(Seriously, conference scheduling might just be an issue. Texas A&M and another possible "road" game at Atlanta against Georgia for the SEC Championship.)

Alabama 3 to 1 to repeat
Ohio St 5 to 1
Oregon 8 to 1
Georgia 12 to 1

This is what the experts think so you better modify your question.....

They will be even more deadly on offense than they were last year. Whatever decline, if any, they have on defense, they will more than offset on offense. McCarron going down is the only thing that makes 3 in a row a question mark.

Bama is going to roll aTm. It won't be close this year. UGA may give them all they can handle again in the SECCG though.

It takes a little bit of luck for any team to win a national championship, or at least a lack of bad luck. Bama's had some luck the last couple of years. Maybe the luck turns on them this fall. But that's about the only way I see anyone else winning it.

Agreed on aTm. I actually think we will play Alabama better than they will.

And yeah, after playing that cupcake schedule, I think the East champ may wear them out in ATL. I hope it's Florida.

replacing players on the oline is not just a matter of "reloading."

They return 8 starters off a defense that gave up 10.9 points per game. AJ McCarron, TJ Yeldon, and Amari Cooper return from an offense that averaged 38.7 points per game that was good for 2nd in the SEC. They lost some on the OL but they will reload. Its a tough position to master with respect to the playbook, technique, and, most importantly, gelling as a cohesive unit that works well together. That may take some time and hurt their offensive production. That being said, I think they are better than last year with a much easier schedule and their coaches are all quality and if any staff can get the oline ready, its theirs. I think they roll.

Im going to agree to disagree. At Alabama, their OL does reload. They return 2 starters- LT Cryus Koundjio who is rated as the #1 OT in the 2015 draft. He's All-SEC right now.RG Anthony Steen is rated as the #4 OG in the 2014 draft. He is currently All-SEC.

The 3 that arent returning starters:
LG- Arie Koundjio (JR)- 6'5 315 brother of Cryus K. Was rated a 95 4 star in hs
C- Ryan Kelly (Soph)- 6'5 290. Already listed as 3rd team All- SEC by some publications as a 1rst year starter. Was rated a 92 4 star in hs
RT- Austin Shepherd (Jr)- 6'5 315. Was rated an 85 3 star in hs. The only "developmental" guy on the OL. I have a sneeky suspicion he doesnt suck

You are right in theory that they will need time to gel but lets not blow that out of proportion. McCarron is handing of to Yeldon and throwing to Cooper. As of right now its a pretty easy argument that is the most talented OL in the SEC right now. There also arent any underclassmen that will need to learn the playbook. All these guys are minimum 3rd year players

Yeah. The Bama-A&M game is going to be a beatdown. Kind of like Bama's rematch against LSU was a couple of years ago.
