Their opponents wins don't have anything to do with how good Alabama is though. They are more talented than us at nearly every position 2 deep. Our left tackle situation should be of great concern. Their QB is better than maybe anyone we see all year. I know we CAN win, but I think the stars will have to align for it to happen. I actually think we have a better shot at Texas because their offense tends to sputter.

We will have to play much better than last night to beat Alabama. Really better than we’ve played all season.

South Carolina stats and Bamas stats are actually very close except the score. SC rushed for 216 yards on Bama. Bama only had one sack. SC got 2 sacks. SC had two costly turnovers. SC had over 400 yards total offense. No doubt mostly after the game was decided but still. Bama has trouble stopping the run.

Their opponents have one Power 4 win all season. Outside of Kentuckys win over an atrocious Texas A&M team, Alabama opponents have wins over:

NM state
Central Arkansas
NC Central
Old Dominion
Towson
Kent State
Youngstown state
South alabama
Two 19 year old QBs in the national spotlight. Both have shown moments of brilliance and moments of oh $h!+. Which one has fewer oh $h!+s on Saturday?

I doubted Taylor’s ability to adapt to the speed of the game. I was wrong. Slight edge to him at this point.

can state’s sketchy as hell OL give him just enough protection? And can they keep him upright and uninjured?

I'm not worried about the offense nearly as much as our defense. Our D line is suffering and our tackling is not nearly as good as I was hoping for.

Yeah they are beatable. We need to be healthy to win but I sorta doubt we are going to be. Work fluff, Isaac…etc. We need to play the best we have played in years

That’s not an uncommon thing to say about any 4-0 team in late September.

Our opponents only have two P4 wins….Mizzou over a bad Kansas team, and Minnesota beating Washington yesterday.

We have a common opponent in SC, who they beat way worse than we did. Kentucky is more or less on par with Mizzou, and has a much better win than any that Mizzou has. And they destroyed UK, while we went to the wire against Mizzou.

So, the entire premise of this post seems to be “Alabama is beatable because Minnesota is better than Florida State”. Doesn’t hold water.

Tackling?? Damn. We definitely will have to play much better than the last 2 games to win. K1 is gonna have to be spot on from from the jump. No turnovers either. I will schitt my pants if we win.
I just hope Kamario doesn't come out like Mullen always did in fear of Alabama. I think Lebby may be better than Mullen in that regard, but Kamario tends to be a bundle of nerves at the start.

Run the ball, quick throws, and get K1 space to run/pass and pray our D can hold and DC can simply out scheme them

A little bit of “Let’s Get Real” on MSU vs Alabama…

- 16 straight losses.

- Only twice in those 16 has the game ended with State within a TD on the scoreboard. Closest game was the “Believe” game in 2014, lost 25-20.

-We’ve lost to them 88 times, we’ve beaten them 17 times.

- Starting in 1958, we’ve played Bama 66 times. Our record is 7 wins and 59 losses. Of those 7 wins only twice have we beaten a “good” Alabama team (1996 and 1980).

Suffice to say, the mountain is tall, icy and the rocks are jagged.

It will take everyone playing way over their head to have a chance. And bama coming down with the flu this week wouldn’t hurt. 😉

Bama has started slow in its last 3 games, but then come back with blowout scores. SC had two early scoring opportunites against Bama, but had a missed FG and a turnover on downs. Then Bama completed a 75 yard scoring pass and the game was all but over.

I THINK we need Bama to start slow again and take full advantage of it. Problem is, it might not phase them after the way they bounced back against UK and FSU.

About the only position we have an advantage in is QB. And their Freshman QB is really good.

I like our chances against Texas in Austin much better than our chances against Alabama in Starkville this weekend.

And I like our chances against Alabama in Starkville this weekend.

It don't matter what anybody 'believes,' K1 and the gang are going to come out balling.

The QBs are the same age and were in the same recruiting class (2025). Russell was interchangeable with Bryce Underwood as the top QB in that class. Kamario was a Top 100 prospect who has proven to be at least as good as Russell and probably better.

We can beat them yes. It will take a monumental effort to do so but it can be done. They will for sure be deeper than us. They have that plus. We will be at home. Plus for us. QB I honestly believe is a push or possibly our favor. Head coach for them is good, and he may be finally getting his groove with them. But we have a coach that has progressed tremendously and is getting his offense finally doing what we hired him for, and I trust our DC with autonomy as much as any. It’s gonna take the near perfect game, but it can be done. Here’s to hoping

Every time we get within striking distance of beating them, they add the stripes to the roster. See 2017 and 2018. Nobody beats bama and the officials.
