And there is the difference.....Bama's receivers make most of the catches they should get.....it's called talent with excellent coaching/player development, obviously something UK severely lacks

Bama receivers actually go up, and fight for 50/50 balls...time their jumps so they are higher than the shorter dbs..and actually catch the balls. They are not afraid to take a hit. UK receivers give up on the plays usually, and are too afraid to catch the ball, because that means that they wow have to take a hit.

They do appear to be more than a little contact shy.

Most of the balls our QB's threw were not high, so the receivers did not get a chance to out jump the defense. I thought that was why we recruited tall receivers. I remember Missouri kicking our butts by their receivers out jumping our linebackers and safeties. Hopefully next year they will be able to use their height.

OLD STOLL FIELD GUY!

I don't think our receivers are afraid to take a hit. Johnson, Walker, and Baker probed otherwise. I think Timmons is and Bone hasn't had much of a chance to show either way. Badet is always a deep threat guy so not many chances their either.

Baker runs back to the huddle laughing and grinning talking to the opposing DB usually after he misses a total gimme catch that costs us. What an upstanding guy to have in our receiver corps.

I'll repeat what my high school coach told us back in the day... "you're gonna get hit whether you catch the ball or not, so CATCH THE DAMN BALL!!!"
