SMH. Good lord. Lots of good players...most are deserving in some fashion.
But, that Ladowski got Gatorade National POY of the year or whatever, but can't make Observer offensive player of the year.....and can't even make 1st team QB?

They have a couple private school RBs at second team, meanwhile that kid from Mt. Pleasant rushed for over 3k(THREE thousand) yards but is 3rd team? I mean.....I don't care what that kid's weight is, or if he's getting looked at. That isn't what this is: doesn't matter if you're a D1 target or not...this should be based off of on the field numbers and play. I find it hard to believe Victory Christian and some other second tier privates who barely play a Varsity schedule should even be considered here. I don't know that MP kid, don't care to and have never seen him play.... but based off the numbers he and many others got outright cheated on these lists b/c of idiotic sportswriters with bias that aren't even pretended to be veiled. Those two private school kids had half the yardage and 14-15 less TDs. Stats aren't everything....but if you're dependable, tough and good enough to rush for THREE-thousand yards.....put his asz up on the first team where he belongs.

That Surratt QB seems to have kinda gotten cheated too. His pass/rush yardage is over 5300 and 70 TDs and won a state title? 2ND team specialist?

We have one on the defensive first team list that wasn't even our best defender on SPs defense. No mention of the best defensive player we have. I assume the writers lead by senior writer Wertz leads this disaster given his history of misjudging talent vs. talent from team to team. I'm sure he's the strongest opinion out of that geeksquad determing these lists, and it shows.

Not to big of a fan of the Gatorade award. It is voted on too early and there are some questionable winners. Look no further than SC last season (2013)! Lawdowski winning that was definitely not unwarranted. James Smith from Mallard Creek had very imnpressive numbers, played a beast of a schedule, and like Ladowski pulled his team through in some tight spots. The one thing that bothers me on Ladowski is he played on a 4AA team in a 3A/4A split conference that had some really weak 3A squads. I am a huge fan of his but when comparing Smith and Ladowski I think that must taken into account.

Four big time performers at QB in the area. Next year Surratt, Smith, and Kendall all return.

I can see where anyone would put Cody Reece on the first or at least second team. Bishop Ford was impressive and his line and QB were not the greatest. He had to make a lot of his yards off his pure speed and moves. Reid's numbers and performances speak for him! I did see Deveaux play twice and he was impressive and punishing. I agree to some point on the Mount Pleasant back based on his total yards. If you look at yards per carry that may change things up a bit but then you can counter for him that he carried the team as he toted the ball an overwhelming number of times. Reece probably gets my first team vote.

The one big omission to me is Jalen Cousar on D Line from Butler. He gassed some early in the year as he was double and triple teamed but he went at it full throttle and was as disruptive as anyone I saw on the DL. He made teams change their game plan! Would have to put him on the first team D. Adonis Alexander from Indy's number may not have been huge but he had a great front seven in front of him and teams went away from him.

I understand your points. I should say...that MC QB was legit without question. Not trying to knock him in the slightest. He's a baller. But, Ladowski was also the only offensive skill player on NC side for Shrine Bowl who looked like he could walk in and play some D1 next year. He was a man amongst boys, and he actually played public school teams whose names didn't rhyme with Maringer or Sparding.

I've seen Concord RB twice, and he hasn't been the best player on the his own team yet. So, first team RB screams of hype. There are a couple of hype picks on here. He's a solid player, but talk about mediocre competition. Concord being undefeated and getting whipped by a mediocre SP defense says it all.

Agree about Cousar. From what I've seen (2 games) he's legit. I know he's not perfect measurable guy for D1s....but play is unquestionable. There were some very questionable HYPE defensive first teamers listed too. Oh well- it's all for discussion. My two cents.
