BBN who is the ref at 2:12? UK fan or he had big money on the line?😂. Can he ref more of our games.

Edit: I just watched the whole thing. You can tell the guy was on UKs side. I seriously like this guy.

Here is what folks dont understand about refs. They are severely graded each and every game. If their scores fall below a certain level they are not allowed to ref at that level any longer. The other thing is literally 70% of the fans out there do not understand the rules. So what they think is a foul by definition is not usually a foul. Also fans are mostly watching from their Tv sets and the camera angles are often times better than the angle the refs get on the court. I have refereed , but no where near the D1level. It is probably the toughest thing I have ever had to do. The game moves so fast and you have to always be in the best position with the right angle. Are there refs that have a boas against UK? Yes, I do think there are. Those guys are usually weeded out after grading period and not allowed to do our games. My Dad swore that Paul Galvan hated UK. Maybe he did, but it was probably that they only had two refs back in those days, and Galvan was 5 foot 6 at best! These days these guys and ladies are trained, in shape and graded very thoroughly. Is there still bias? Yes, of course but if its sniffed out in grading those refs are not allowed to do our games any longer.

I was just pointing out the refs hilarious reaction when Oweh hit that shot. No way he's not a UK fan. He celebrated like a proud dad.

If refs don't have a vendetta against UK, than I lose about 50% of my talking points after a UK loss.

OP joined sunday , im smelling a Santa Clara fan
How? No matter when I joined. I'm talking about the ref celebrating when we hit the shot. It's awesome. If I was mad about the ref then maybe I could be a Santa clara fan.

Did you watch the black ref when oweh hit the shot? That's not normal behavior.... We are always saying how the refs hate Kentucky.....well this one ref doesn't... Can anybody figure out his name?

He literally celebrates doesn't even try to hide it.

I spent 10 years in high school- public school and private. But a good friend of mine was a D1 ref (rip), and he was a supervisor. I was able to be involved in a couple of meetings that he had with folks on grading etc. This was 20years ago and i am sure its changed a bit but there is a strict process.

pretty much what I figured.
Refs circle the wagons no matter what level they are in.

Same as cops.

Do you mean like when the rooferee was graded for the '17 UNCheat game and was awarded a Final Four for it?

Yeah, but who watches the people who grade them? Do we ever see any of the usual terrible refs fall below this grade? It’s not about calling things by the book or right. They ignore it on one end and call it on the other, they make game changing calls for one team. We had games where a ref blew their whistle 24 times and 23 were against us. That seems statistically impossible.
