Did he know who Scheffler was and just wanted to make a power play on a celebrity type? They really had no choice after the police officer failed to follow protocols and video evidence directly contradicted the entirety of the officer's account.
I don't think it's too hard to piece together, though. As Scheffler said, it was really just a misunderstanding. Seems clear that's what happened. Scheffler got conflicting instructions, the officer way overreacted to the situation and then tried to justify his actions by fabricating a story.
So, are the police saying the dragging didn't happen? Seems like a fireable offense.
Don't think they explicitly said it didn't happen, but I watched the video... it didn't happen. So, are the police saying the dragging didn't happen? Seems like a fireable offense.
I just wonder how many other stories this officer fabricated. They really had no choice after the police officer failed to follow protocols and video evidence directly contradicted the entirety of the officer's account.

Saw some info about how he had in the past. Seems like a Grade A CopI just wonder how many other stories this officer fabricated.
While true, law enforcement is not unique in that respect. There are way too many people in law enforcement, who shouldn't be.
It's a tough job to fill. They pay well because they have to to attract people and still have a very hard time staying staffed. I know several former LEOs. Not one would say they recommend the job to young people. There are way too many people in law enforcement, who shouldn't be.
Correct. Case in point: Politics. While true, law enforcement is not unique in that respect.
I still don’t doubt he did fall. Everyone is saying it didn’t happen based on the short video that came out. But what likely transpired is the fall happened before Scheffler turned in and was blocked from video as it was behind the bus. I believe after getting “dragged” the cop got up and ran after Scheffler, which is what we see in the video.FWIW, the officer is sticking by his story that he was dragged by the car, even though all media outlets now agree the video evidence shows that at no point was he dragged.
