I'm saying UK is an elite job - one of the top 10 jobs in America, if not top 5. For whatever reason, it appears he isn't handling this job all that well. The guy they got rid of did a better job with these players than he did. And turned around Minnesota in no time. Just appears that he wasn't ready for a job of this magnitude. It's a little baffling, because he did do great jobs at other programs. He took A&M from one of the worst major conference programs out there and won a lot of games. But with the talent he has at UK, he shouldn't be in the NIT.

How can you say Tubby did a better job with these players? What kind of production did he get out of Porter, Stevensen, Harris, Stewart, or Carter that would make you say that? What did he get out of Meeks that Gillispie hasn't gotten? And forget about Patrick Patterson. He wasn't coming anywhere near Lexington until Tubby left.

And he still went 8-8 in a down SEC. No matter how you slice it, he did a crappy job coaching this year and I don't see how anyone could say that UK was "well coached" this season.

If you can't go 10-6 at UK in a down year in the SEC when you have Meeks and Patterson, then you don't deserve to stay. Meeks is one of the best pure scorers I remember them having, and Patterson is probably a better all around player than Morris.
He should've been able to bring in 3 decent freshmen to fill the starting lineup and still win 10 games in the SEC. Imagine how bad they would be without Meeks and Patterson next year.

There is no justifying his record this year. I don't care what shape Tubby supposedly left them in. He had 2 all-SEC players, which should be plenty to do better than 8-8 in what was a very poor league this year.
