all us Braves fans know from bitter experience that it will take him until mid-June to make the changes that were obvious in April.this year, it's Glaus.
Bonus Cox boneheadedness: Tuesday, pulling Hanson in the 5th........so he could have a lefty face a lefty. Because to Cox, a LH with a career 5 ERA >> Tommy 17ing Hanson when facing a lefty batter. Thankfully, Ryan Madson was even dumber that day, walking a batter with a 3-run lead in the 9th, then running the count full to Glaus and having to give him one right down the middle (which is better than walking him, but barely). As Smoltz said, he put it on a tee for him.
By June, Escobar will lead off (less double plays), Glaus will hit 7th, and Diaz will probably hit 5th (only because Heyward hitting 5th would line up too many lefties in a row).
Would love to have seen what Heyward would have done in the 9th yesterday..........but he never got the chance, because Glaus is still hitting 5th.
Glaus will get his 20 HRs for the year...........at the cost of ~50 rbis for the team. that's how Cox does it.
