you are all so, so far out on a limb predicting and praying for a whipping at Arkansas - since they joined the league, I'm pretty sure that 90% of the time the home team prison bitches the visitor. If they drill us by 20 something, it will mean absolutely nothing - ask Dontae', Dampier, and D. Wilson. For the record, I'm not convinced they will blow us out.

I was at the game Monday, and was very impressed with how much coaching the "bumbling idiots" have done over the last few weeks - we didn't turn it over when they went to their trapping game (with a bunch of freshmens on the floor!!), we scored against the zone, we scored against man, we made adjustments to their early offense, Osby all of a sudden has an inside game (IT WAS ABSOLUTELY NON-EXISTENT WHEN PRACTICE STARTED), Bost is using the dribble to get in the lane.

Every freakin bit of that is coaching, and all of that crap was a mess 2 or 3 weeks ago because 3/4 of the team had played very little college basketball.

With all of that said, I believe that we will struggle this year due to inexperience and a lack of physical strength in the post and at guard - blame recruiting if you have to blame something, but if you think we are going to be fully stocked every year, you need your head examined.

we'll probably lose, but i agree...i'm not putting much stock in this one. arkansas is a miserable place to play and they're a lot better than people expected. saw tonight that they've beaten the last 7 ranked teams to play there which dates back to stan heath. i'll be much more interested in the alabama game.

We should be fine- UPig is starting 5 new guys...they are even more inexperienced than we are

We've been young every year since Lawrence and company left. I'm tired of being young. I want to be good, dang it! Is that too much to ask?

Edited to add: 2nd round of the tourney no longer qualifies as a good team for us. We've been there enough... it's time to move forward

... but the argument Stansbury needs to be fired is absurd. I'm glad Byrne has showed that we aren't playing around with our coaches and we are serious but saying Stansbury needs to be fired is flat out dumb.

I like stans, and dont think he needs to get fired.......what I want fired are the fans who say 'ok, we're playing team X and they are good, so its ok to lose" ......or its ok if we lose......loser mentality.....that is why we keep loser coaches around for longer than any other school in the sec, and why we are the laughing stock of the sec.....this, I dispise

When news came out this summer that Patrick Beverly was off the team, many on here declared Arkansas as definitely the worst team in the SEC. Meanwhile, that horrible team has 2 top 10 wins already while "young" MSU has only 5 losses so far. Keep the excuses flowing, it's funny watching guys like you backpedal.

That's ironic. You, fishwater, and the rest of your minions are proclaiming how we'll get blown out in SEC play, and won't be worth a damn and we consistently put up 20 win seasons and win our division and go to the tournament. You see how that works both ways? No one could have predicted Arkansas would have two wins over top ten teams after Beverly, Ervin, Hill, and co. last year, so saying they were gonna be the worst team in the SEC after they left wasn't like people were pulling something out of their *** or making some crazy prediction. Go look at analysts and other guys who get paid to cover sports, and I would bet there aren't many who predicted Arkansas to even be top half of the west.

Considering I'm the guy that says the SEC is the ONLY place Ricky can win, so I dont think you mean me in that statement

"we consistently put up 20 win seasons and win our division and go to the tournament."

You can play 10 nobodys (which we always do) and win 8 conference games(which means you're average) and have 18 wins heading into the SEC and NIT Tourneys to win your 20 games...After we miss the NCAA Tourney this season, we will have made it once in the last four- thats not consistent

"No one could have predicted Arkansas would have two wins over top ten teams after Beverly, Ervin, Hill, and co. last year, so saying they were gonna be the worst team in the SEC after they left"

translated means- we were wrong and just dont like to admit it. And it hurts even more because we like using the youth excuse to help explain why Ricky cant win big or why he loses non-conference games he has no business losing

Byrne got rid of Polk and Croom thats great, I, like the rest are, am beyond excited about Mullen and Cohen joining our program. But the argument for firing Stansbury has no good ground to work from unlike that of Polk and Croom. Give it up for a year and come back when we flop next year then start the tirade against Stansbury again.

I didn't feel like looking up all the preseason predictions, but CBS had them finishing last in the west this year, and ESPN proclaimed it to be hard times in Arkansas while they are rebuilding. So that's two prominent media outlets that would have never predicted wins over OU and Texas. Freshmen come in sometime and contribute more than expected. I didn't think Arkansas would be good, and I have no problem admitting that I was wrong if they can leave the Bud and beat decent teams on the road. My opinion is not made up yet, although their two signature wins are impressive. I don't use the youth excuse to explain away losses or anything like that so you must be talking about someone else. I think there are times when being young is a legitimate reason for having a down year, but I don't think that absolves everyone associated with the team of blame or responsibility. I think Rick has done a good job with this team so far. Yes, there are games I think we should have won, but overall we have improved and looked better as the season progresses and I expect that to continue. My expectations this year for us was 15-18 wins and 7-9 conference wins. I think that is realistic. I did expect Arkansas to be bottom half of the west, but it looks like I could be wrong. I'm sure you had the Pigs winning big though cause all your predictions are dead on.

because I always say the only way he should be fired is if we miss the Tourney next year too. And he will be.

But I do take offense to the "we couldnt do any better" crowd. Yes we can, and yes we will.
