Sure Nutt's doing some negative recruiting, and he did make that comment. My point was that Mullen has been taking a lot more of public shots at Ole Miss from day one, because Mississippi is a bigger focus for his in recruiting than it is for ours. Everything from T-S-U-N to saying MSU is the school that represents the people of Mississippi. He's been running his mouth negatively about Ole Miss in public, and I'm saying that I understand his motives. He's made it known that he wants to focus almost solely on Mississippi for his recruiting, so he's taking shots at his biggest opponent for those recruits.

Nutt hasn't taken nearly the same level of public shots at MSU as Mullen has at Ole Miss. It's a different style of approach, and I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that Nutt and our staff have spent almost as much time, if not more, out of state than they have in state for their recruiting.

What, other than the shots taken over the last week, has Mullen said about Ole Miss/Nutt that can be construed as "negative?" Your examples of T-S-U-N and him saying MSU represents the people of Mississippi are a long way from negative by my definition. Look at the antics of people like Kiffin and Spurrier for negative shots at opponents.

I couldn't care less if Dan Mullen took a dump in Snead's helmet and shoved it onto Nutt's head. I would say "way to go Dan". You Rebs should be thanking Mullen for not running it up more.

John K. Bettersworth refferred to Mississippt State as the "People's College" in his history of the school that was published in 1953. The same book was renamed "People's University" in 1980 when it was re-issued after the 100 year anniversary of the school.

So Mullen's use of the phrase is nothing new. And its also no different then the use of the phrase "Flagship University" which many have used to describe Ole Miss. So I don't count that one as a negative statement....just a nickname for the university that he latched onto and one that, in the old days, accurately described the differences between the student bodies at the two major universities and the whole Populist movement that helped bring about the founding of an A & M school in our state.

except, of course, when they are in need of a big black DL.

saying MSU is the school that represents the people of Mississippi.
In fact, Over Thanksgiving my (step)in-laws were making fun of the State of Mississippi.. So I asked him "why did you send your kids to college in Mississippi (Ole Miss) if the State is so terrible, in your opinion"... His response was "Ole Miss is logistically located in Mississippi but that is the only connection... Mississippians go to MSU, and it's obvious"

You can call yourself the "Harvard of the South" when you're really a safety school for people who couldn't get into the best public universities in Georgia or Texas, then you get to say "well, they're not really FROM here, so it doesn't make OUR state look bad" when they make total asses of themselves on YouTube. Hypothetically, of course.

By going out of their way to run up the score last year. They were throwing the bomb up 35 points. They posted many happy returns on the scoreboard. Then Nutt starts talking smack. We took our *** whipping last year and waited til this year to respond and did so by running over your *** and the Capital One reps at the same time. Rebs, suck it up and deal with the fact the Ninja and Mullen are not going to let this crap go any more. To the victors go the spoils and if your coach wants to talk smack, be prepared to be called on it. I for one am glad to see a little fire comming back to this game.
We scored 31 points in the first half and only 14 in the second half. Now I ask you, did Nutt take his foot off the gas or did the MSU defense all of a sudden decide not to suck?

The bomb to Wallace was at the end of the 1st half and made the score 31-0 so no, we weren't throwing bombs up 35 points.

Many happy returns was in response to MSU billboard. From Dixon with love was in response to the Ole Miss band not playing Dixie anymore. I'm pretty sure we will have a response to the Dixon postcard or some MSU faux pas for next year if we win.

Forget this who said what and he did it first ****. We hate your guts and you hate ours. End of story.

You need to check with some of your ole miss brethren on NAFOOM. In case you don't know, you're supposed to be indifferent to State. You really should be hating LSU's guts more than ours.

The statement was more of an indictment of the pussification of each fanbase. When you whip someones ***, you earn the right to gloat. Plain and simple. We you get your *** whippped, you need to STFU and not ***** and moan about the other team running up the score or whine about what was put on the scoreboard or what a coach said blah, blah, blah.

Not to air out old laundry, but Jesus, you guys have the KKK rallying on your campus... The FRICKEN' KKK!!!!!!!! Who the hell has that happen to them any more?

You are the Mississippi Rebels, you had to ban sticks to the game to prevent your fans from waving rebel flags, you have infighting about "The South Shall Rise Again", your head basketball coach refers to middle-Eastern taxi drivers as Sand Ni**ers, it just goes on and on and on... You guys are like the Energizer Bunny...

Now you get all pissy because our coach RESPONDS to your numbNUTTS coach.

Hey, if it pisses you off so much, do something about it next year... until then - 41 to 27... I have a suspicion that this is the first of many ***-whippings that NUTT is gonna endure from Mullen. Damn, he took a team of freshman and whomped your ***...

but your step in-laws, or whatever, were taking a jab at you - saying 'it's obvious Mississippians only go to MState.' Like OM is some world university or some ****. There is a guy who goes to school there who cannot even 17'n read yet they are only 'logistically located' in Mississippi?? That is just too good.

I'm tired of hearing the 75% of the obnoxious 17s who are Ole Miss fans be hypocrites and 17ing bitches.

You got your asses handed to you just like we did last year.

You are going to a bowl game. If you had our schedule you'd still go to a bowl game but would likely be 7-5 or 6-6. If we had yours we'd likely be 6-6 or 7-5.

Nutt made a comment about our program indirectly. Mullen followed it up with a better jab although it was still somewhat indirect.

Its that simple all the way around.

I'm tired of hearing you guys don't get up for the egg bowl. Did we get up for it last year? No. Is that why we got our va j j s beat off? No you just lined up and kicked the **** out of us. Same this year but put a waggle on it.
