everyone has been worried about him and his damn attitude. If he can create and open some other players up, this is a great addition. Even though he isnt at his peak

But this is just another Grizz front office 17 up. I don't really see how bringing in a shoot first, shoot often point guard is going to help develop Gay and Mayo.

The front office has no clue what it's doing. This will sell a few tickets, but not to the betterment of the team. This after years of basically pitching a temper-tantrum anytime someone suggest they sign a big free agent to generate interest in the team. Not only do they do that exact thing, but they sign an aging guy and one not exactly known for his leadership skills.

....worked him out last month, HBO would have been in pre production meetings this morning for Hard Knox-Beale Street. Z-Bo & AI make it worth watching anyway.

I wonder what, if anything, those two gonna do to hinder the progress of OJ Mayo, Marc Gasol, Rudy Gay, Mike Conley, Sam Young, Darrell Arthur, & DeMarre Carroll.

I'll still be there opening night vs Detroit.

Speaking of the Grizz, Jaric better keep an eye on wis old lady. I saw this ad at the bottom of this site last week.

I don't see how it possibly hurts. $3.5M for 1 year? If he comes in with a me first attitude and won't listen, cut the bastard and move on. It's not like we have $60M invested in him.

As far as the young guys go, my philosophy is this. If you want to make it in the league as a top tier franchise player, then step the <17> up and do it. If you play with energy, develop a way to consistently score, and hold your own on defense, the minutes will come. If Gay, Mayo, or Conley don't develop this year, it isn't going to be because of AI. It will be their own faults for accepting a back seat while pouting.

That said, I'm hoping none of this happens and the result is just a fun season with better crowds. I enjoyed the years of free tickets, but I guess I'll pay for a few if it means 18K people instead of being able to hear the coaches from the terrace.

I like the move. He'll sell tickets and jerseys. I think he has possibly been humbled somewhat over the past couple of years, and we'll see if he works well with this team. They are desperate for some veteran leadership, and maybe they're going out on a limb hoping he brings some of that.... A really really skinny limb, but I'm just glad to finally see the grizz being proactive rather than passive

it definitely happened during the last two months. How that translates into his play as a Grizzly, I don't know, but I guess we'll find out soon enough.

I think that for once, the Grizz were one of just a couple franchises in just the right spot to make the risk vs. reward of this situation work. If I were a playoff team, I'd have said no. If I were a rebuilding team, I'd have said no. However, the Grizz are somewhere in the middle where they have a lot of very young talent that is in desperate need of some veteran leadership. Will AI provide that? Quite possibly not, but I still say you may as well go for it.

what the Grizz need more than anything right now is money and tickets sold, and he can do that. They'll also be talked about in the media now, instead of largely ignored. I don't see it hurting a hell of a lot.
