In my pipe-dream I'm sitting on my back porch on a clear, mild early December day, 3G phone in hand, perusing this board. A thread appears suddenly at the top of page one. I notice that the author is Jack at Shelter. The thread is titled, "Gentlemen, it's a done deal."

I allow myself the first hint, the first whisper, of positive anticipation about MState football in 8 years.

I click open the thread to read that Croom's agreed to a reasonable buy-out. I struggle to contain myself out of respect for my neighbors.

But then the thread goes on to say that Byrne is rumored to have Todd Graham very high on his list. Neighbors be damned.

This is my pipe-dream, and it is all I have left.

I am right there w/ you. It would be a great way to end the year, knowing that we could move forward after the past 8 years. This crap has gotten old.

I think Byrne will make a good hire, I tend to trust him on this
