Edited to add

The water level inside the levee at the crest will be about 139.12ft above sea level, Gville sits at about 120-125ft above sea level... so that means as long as it stays in the levees they will be ok but if the levee doesnt hold then you do the math.

The flooding that will happen in the South Delta is going to be caused by water backing up, and is supposed to reach everything within the Yazoo BackwaterArea below an elevation of 109 ft (as of this morning). I think everything north of Hollandale/Arcola (except the low areas) should be above 109 ft.

110 feet in southeast Humphreys County. Needless to say, we're hoping and praying that it stays at 109.

Used to tell me about my grandfather and the men in their area working shifts along the levee at night with guns back in '27 to keep people from Arkansas from blowing it with dynamite. Don't know how much truth to that there was, but she never seemed to be one to make up stories.

Arkansas people had to guard there's as well from people from Mississippi. If you have ever seen the PBS documentary Fatal Flood, they comment on it.

The river has a slope to it so you have to put that into the equation when you are figuring what elevation will go under.
