It is funny, a bunch of us older guys were jealous that we were missing out on what a lot of students were complaining about having to do.

I would have loved to have hung out in the junction, drinking my *** off and hanging out with everyone.

My debts, my aches and pains, my high blood pressure and cholesterol. Where do I sign up and which of these 17ers do I yank the silver spoon from their mouth to trade places?

is this is the stuff they will remember from college. Not the Saturdays they got sleep in. Hell the best memories are the crazy **** that you do. Like the night a couple of us, with the help of some fiji's flipped the ATO van over, for no particular reason. I'll trade with them in a Starkvegas minute. Pussification of the youth is what it is. Signed old bastard.

I swear the students have no idea how good they got it. I sat through the Kang's bad years (and good) plus the Croom Error. Stayed in Cresswell, which at the time was decent, but compared to the new dorms its like living in a cell at Parchman. The Union food sucked. I'd trade Great Wall for Panda Express any day. The old bookstore in the in Union was ****. Didn't have high speed internet in the dorms (dialup mutha17ers) until around March of my freshman year. Not to mentionSpeechClass actually involved speaking to live people. <div>

Plus, what I would do is get student tickets and then sell it at face value. I came out ahead since we only had to pay something like 15 bucks for season tickets at the time.

College was the most fun of my entire life. I literally never had a bad day my junior year in 1998- I was taking easy classes, and all I did was hang out, go to band practice, watch football, and chase women.

years, if that. That is why I swore I would never miss another bowl game after the Snow Bowl. You never know when there will be another 9 year run of sucktitude. <div>
</div><div>Soak it up you bunch of whiners, you are lucky to be a student during an era of success for MSU football. Being there from 97-02 was awesome, and you are lucky enough to be getting a taste of that. </div>

I was virtually penniless back then, barely enough to go to LenLew's once or twice a week, and I could buy the place now. I go to the beach three or four times a year and travel wherever I want whenever I want to. I can afford good scotch and good meat to consume before my scotch. I have a house I never thought I'd have when I was at State, and its paid for.

I will die before too long, More behind me than in front of me. But I think any benefit of having a fear of dieing is overrated at best, so I don't worry. I wish I didn't hurt when I get up in the morning, but by mid morning I feel OK, so all is not yet lost. In the rain, I can outrun many who post here, if it keeps me from getting wet. I did my military time under fire, so how much adventure could I wish for? I have more scars than most here and no tattoos. Every scar I have, and several of themare significant, has a better story than most tattoos. By now, I certainly have learned several things to avoid and the firepower to protect myself from most of them.

I have two successful sons who did it their way on their own and four incredible grand kids. The oldestplays football forStarkville.Steak is on my menu for dinner tonight and the weekend coming up will be floating in boiled shrimp and cold beer in Lower Alabama.

Thanks for the offer Satan, I'll stay where I am.

edited to add: I had a great time at MSU in the 60's pre computer - what the 17 was internet? We had beer half way to columbus and hot women. Who could ask for more?

I was at State from 2004 to 2008, which means I had all Croom all the time. I have the luck of 2007 as the only thing to think fondly of for football. I did have the chance to see the baseball team make it to the series and am very thankful.

Give me a shot to hang out all night and then get in line, where do I sign up?

I also remember not having any money and being frustrated during my last semester, which wasfull of courses that meant nothing, that I wasn't out starting my business. Twenty one years later I am pretty much at peace with everything in my life. I wouldn't go back to being 21 other than the whole mortality thing.

i miss being able to stay out all night and skip class if i wanted to, and being around college women all the time, really cheap student tickets, but i do like having money now and basically being able to do things now i couldn't afford to do before. having to make payments on everything pretty much suck though
